Achoo, you shwoing off your brainiac photo guessing deductions again?
12/01/2005 07:57:15 PM · #2
Ursula, you show your refined nature by understanding the "royal we". A mere curtsy will do though...

I did have one shot bear where I wondered, "is this his", but I was wrong last time I guessed. I'll give it a whirl cuz a print would look good on my wall...

By saying I saw a scalvert and a setzler I meant that I saw two pictures which were obvious, direct reshots of their former work (but likely done by someone else). The librodo was less obvious but could have had "flavors of".

My vanity said I saw an Achoo, but only in theme. Most likely it was a case of "all pictures have been done before"...

Oh, and I saw lots of bears...

Oh, we're everywhere! If you can identify mine, I'll send you a print! Just leave a comment before challenge end: "I see you, bear!". I'll check your comments to make sure you didn't say that to evreyone :-) Even a single duplicate comment invalidates your entry...

What do we win?

Well, "we" is Dr Achoo, and HE wins a print from my oeuvre...

So .... if the good doctor is a "we", do we have to kiss his toe from now on?

Where are all these people that praised the challenge? I just got a 2 for my entry, w/o comment.I'm normally fine with 2s when I'm hovering about 5, but when hovering about 6 I must ask myself...

Stop. Who am I kidding. I've been here long enough to realize that $h!t like this happens. On with the show...

I usually look at a copycat shot as an homage. I'd be really honored if someone chose to copy something I did. With that being said, I also consider that the person has accepted the high standard that comes with it. If they did not "meet up" to the original, it is reflected in my score; in other words, I am a harsher critic if the attempt is not up to snuff. Thems the chances you take...

SSDD with this one...

I feel like posting links to the replicated shots in the comments. lol

Yeah, you tell 'em!!!! Me too.

Sorry, my mind is not working quite right today. We had our wood floors refinished, today they put on the final coat, and the smell is giving me a tremendous headache [looking for sympathy here :) ]. I'm going for a walk.

the copies don't bother me much, though i'm not about to give an obvious straight up copy a very high score... and speaking of copies, anyone notice that a few of the pics are almost exactly the same as pics in collections? i just finished my first run through both challenges and there are at least 2 that were obviously different angles from the same shoot... an odd choice, i'd think...

and i do agree with the over use of neat image. several images i thought i'd really vote high from the thumbnail, got lower scores when i saw them full size...

all in all, though, more good than bad... i generally like to keep to the bell curve in voting, but it's gonna be shifted hard to the right on this one, for sure...

Dunno...

I've always liked this shot though:
