Because I did take the picture at 1am instead of going to bed.

I like this because it happened very quickly and is one of three or four shots. Seeing it happen is one thing...getting the camera ready and nailing it is another. I shoot in Manual mode because I dislike my images where I've used P which I never use anymore, so getting this slice of time was very special, for me. And quite possibly my best image ever.

Phil, it would definately have to be this shot, as in "my" opinion, this is one of the "BEST" macro shots I have ever seen.....

I am proud of this shot of my oldest son, because he really does explore his world with that look of wonder...STILL. This photo also was the Sweepstates winner at one of our local photo shows in the People Category. (Sweepstates=overall winner=Rosette Ribbon)

The one I am most proud of is actually in an upcoming challenge right now. But I will post it afterwards and why later. :)

THIS is the reason I'm an obsessive photographer. Just a few weeks after I got my first prosumer camera, my sister's dachshund had puppies. I had a whole week to think about how I wanted to shoot them, made a plan, then drove the 2 hours to her house FULL of camera gear, props and determination. MUCH to my amazement, the shots came out great... and I've been addicted ever since! Thanks, sis. :)

This was one of the first candid shots I ever did where the subject was aware of me... I was very nervous about this, but being on my own in a foreign country where nobody spoke English pushed me into it!
He was actually very grumpy, but I caught him smiling here because someone dropped all their shopping.
I can walk up to any stranger now and shove a 12mm lens up their nose without any embarassment, but this shot was my turning point.

My first attempt at getting a picture out of my head and onto 'film.' Knowing what I do now, the picture would be probably 10 times better but its no longer in my head. My second ever challenge entry and my first real go at editing in photoshop.

:-) what can I say .... it was the first shot here on DPC that I felt was more than half-decent.
