These are interesting, because the video monitoring system allows for more control in framing the shot than the typical kite shot.

These are much more intimate than most plane photos; the altitude is lower, and the focal length of the lens and the POV are correspondingly more "natural". The kite flies without disturbing anything beneath, also, so it's a very unobtrusive way to do these photos.

ok, ok, but from memory they are both pretty wet :- )

hmm. I don't know, they don't really seem very special to me. Could've been made in a plane too. A lot more safe for your 5D too.

Somehow it feels like he's got too much money and doesn't know how to spend it anymore. I have to save money for the 5D for half a year. No way I'll attach that one on a kite.

Ya, what's a 5D between friends...

Still, the shots are pretty sweet. Makes me want to rig something up and try it.

A series of shots on the BBC website from a guy who attaches a Canon 5D to a kite to take pictures.

Maybe its just me . . but seeing the way kites swoop and dive I would be concerned about having a 5D strapped under it - still he says he's only lost one so far due to it landing inthe sea.

Oh well - that's not so bad then is it ? :- )
