It's not 100% finished (some links may not work and some pages don't have any images yet), but it's got enough there for you to take a look. Give me your honest opinion and thoughts please.

Thank you!

Wow I really like it.

It's really clean and showcases your photos really well as well as getting your service information across.

I would now put more of your portfolio up!

Well Kevin, I am not an expert but after cruising your site, here are some thoughts.

I like the maroon on black background - very readable yet grabs my attention. I like the "Ignite" branding idea and philosophy. I think the spark / ignite theme can be expanded more throughout the site. The VIP idea is clever - who doesn't want to be treated like a VIP and save money? As you mentioned, it needs more photos (and stories) in the portfolio, but I think it is a very fun and interesting website with a strong theme and mission statement.

Overall - very well done. If he doesn't see this thread, ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' littlegett does very thorough website evaluations and may offer more insight.

There has to be a better way to convey information over audio. I hate websites with audio. And there's no obvious way to turn it off either.

ETA: oops, something else was going on my computer for some strange reason. Sorry, i thought it was coming form your website. GREAT site!

Nice design. An initial observation would be to increase the timing on the slide swipes on the home page by 0.5 seconds. You know what text is on them already, so the tendency is for the time to be too short, as opposed to someone reading them for the first time - It gives a feeling of being 'rushed' (I've made this mistake myself in the past)

nice, clean site - typical of what you can do with wordpress.

i clicked on the VIP invitation and was taken to the post, but upon arriving found no clear instructions as to what to do...i see the same image (just smaller), but am left with the assumption that something automatic is going to happen. you need to spell it out to your visitors that either you are doing something automatically, or they will need to take some specific action. (i guess this is some of stuff you're still working on, just like details for the launch?)

good luck with the friendship day. i do hope you'll let us know how that works out (it sounds like it could be a lot of fun!).

your 'Join our VIP List' link at the bottom only goes back to the top of the current page

i got a 404 error when clicking the 'corporate & event' link at the bottom

nitpic: make sure your content is consistent. some places you say 'less than two minutes' to fill out the contact form, others say '60 seconds'...

lastly, as soon as you can, plug in as many images as you can, especially on your text-heavy pages. you're selling yourself as a visual artist - let your work speak for itself and you won't have to worry about whether or not you're losing people who don't want to wade through all the text (i'm guilty of this as well, and am in the process of pairing back the stuff that i though was important to 'spell out' and trying to replace it with imagery).

just my 02 ;-)

Yes, still working on this aspect. It's not functional yet.

If I get the site launched in time! Lol.

I removed that page. Thanks for the notice!

Definitely will get on top of making sure everything is consistent.

Definitely. I am working on selecting images for the different pages to help break up the text. Thanks.

Will do that. Thanks.

Thanks. Any insight as to where the ignite/spark theme can be expanded on in the site?

Love the "trash the dress" concept. Wish I'd known about that 14 years ago instead hanging this huge white dress in my closet forever!
Like the look of the site. I agree with previous posters that you need more images as soon as possible. Things are maybe too wordy.
I know you want to be open but you might consider removing your start date. It might turn off people to know you've only been in business for a month. Even though you've clearly got more experience, that date just jumped out at me.
Curious: how are you going to get clients?
Good luck!

I decided to post the date because I want to be real. I don't want to act like I'm Atlanta's "premier" photographer or anything like that. I just want to be as real as possible. I know I'll get clients and then the people who care about dates and how long I've been in business won't matter anymore.

I haven't figured out how I'm going to get clients yet. I'm starting out doing free shoots for friends and family to build up my portfolio. Then I will have some good launch specials. Word of mouth will bring most of my business along with top search placement in Google. I'll have a lot of contests and other things going on with Twitter and Facebook. I'll have my VIP email list. Etc. etc.

I don't even have any equipment right now. I have a Canon 7d with no lens. Trying to save up for the 24-70 2.8L but I might go for the 17-55 2.8IS first so I can get started sooner rather than later.

I also love the trash the dress idea for a shoot. It's a great way to use the dress in a creative way when you aren't worried about hurting it anymore. Sure beats having it sit in a box or having a daughter SELL it and keep the money. Been there and done that one.

Try bolding the grey text to make it easier to read. Just a design trick in a reverse box. If the colors are too close or the type is thinner, it makes the eye work harder and much harder for people without great vision to read it easily. People are often lazy readers and it text is too busy or cluttered then they might past it by and not read it. I liked the adverts that I worked on for my paper better when their was more white space around stuff and strategically used Italics. I also generally did full justification on my text because it's a cleaner and more even look. I know that sometimes it can make spacing a bit weird I I would generally adjust my spacing/kerning or add another element to fix that issues. It could be a quote box, graphics/images, drop cap, margins, etc.

Have fun with it. It looks great.

In your portfolio, I would disable the ability of viewers to right-click and copy your images.
