Does anyone where to buy sharpness charts (if that's what they are called) which you photograph for testing the sharpness you your lens?

I'd suggest contacting someone at DPReview.com, where they use such items for testing, or else a large camera vendor like B&H Photo ...

Edmund Optics has everything you could ask for here.

Bob Atkins has a good article on testing and downloadable, printable-in-hi-res here.

The old standard for resolution test charts was the USAF 1951 chart, as described by Mil-Std-150. There are several available on the internet that you can print. The new standard target is the ISO 12233 target. A printable version is available at //www.graphics.cornell.edu/~westin/misc/res-chart.html. The earlier posts provide very useful lens testing information. The ISO target was designed specifically for resolution testing using digital cameras.
