No word from Knowstradamus, which is hardly surprising, but it's gotta be tough on the people who believed this nut. From the article: Retired Metropolitan Transportation Authority worker Robert Fitzpatrick, 60, said he spent more than $140,000 of his savings on subway posters and bus shelter advertisements warning of the May 21 Judgment Day.
"God's people are commanded to sound the warning, to sound the trumpet so to speak so people know," Fitzpatrick said of his advertising blitz. Fitzpatrick said Camping led him to believe Judgment Day would be May 21, but added that he disagreed with the broadcaster's prediction it would begin in Asia. In Fitzpatrick's view, from his reading of the Bible, Judgment Day would begin around 6 p.m. Eastern Time. He said on Saturday that he still had no doubts Judgment Day would come this day. "I wouldn't even entertain that question because there's too much proof from the Bible," he said.

Yeah, so it's 6:40 Eastern Time and *gasp* no earthquake. $140,000 that could have been used for retirement, vacations, feeding the hungry, etc. was unfortunately spent advertising his own gullibility. The surest way to kill any superstition is to make a falsifiable prediction of something extraordinary.

I really don't understand why they believed him when he already pulled this once before.

The rapture didn't take me. I came home and had laundry to fold, and the hems on the T-shirts curled up as usual and wouldn't straighten out no matter how hard I shook them (grrrr ... big pet peeve). So what's my next best hope?

Oooh, laundry and those annoying curled up t-shirt hems - I hate to say it, Julianne, but I think you are in hell.

My pastor's kid is on my kid's baseball team.

I told him the rapture wasn't happening, since I talked to people in Australia and they're still there.

I told him I guess I'll see him tomorrow.

He answered: "If not, I'll know where you are!" :)

Just ran across this advert on a phone pole Rapture jetpack, only $50,000 from some enterprising individual. And it comes in cat sizes! I thought the cats were all being saved anyway.

Any sales yet, Slippy?

We didn't take into account Daylight Savings Time. It's actually, uh... already past 7:00. Well, the time is off because Pope Gregory messed with the calendar, no wait... the Mayan Calendar, no, um... oh... I see... it was a typo in the Greek translation of a Hebrew letter picked up from a Babylonian folktale. It wasn't a global warning at all, but global warming we were supposed to highlight. Hmm... 8MPG RVs might not be the best way to spread the message...

If rapture happens you won't be coming back, I'm pretty sure that you'll get rewarded for all that hard effort you put in in /rant... :) LOL.. Sorry sneezy, I just can't help myself when it come to this subject and you.. :)

ETA: Someone add him to the looting list as well please, we'll need a party to go to devils staircase to get whatever gear he takes with him on his rapture walk.. :)

Man, wouldn't you guys have been ticked. $5,000 worth of photographic gear just laying there in the wilderness. But it would have been a PITA to go get, let me tell you! :)

We must admit the world ended for a lot of people yesterday, each death catastrophically lethal. Each a rapture of some kind. Thus this man must be somewhat right... everyday.
