I'm searching for a program I can host online that is made for professional photographers who sell to other companies. I have a very large client I'm shooting ads for and I need a way for them to look at each days shoots and mark the shots they want. I am NOT selling prints. I deliver high res edited files to them and sell directly. So far all the online services I have found are clearly aimed at wedding shooters and others selling to consumers, not a high end advertising client.

Thanks!!!

A SmugMug pro account should let you do what you want; well, sort of. You still need to set it up like you want to sell the print, I believe, but you can set up proofing so that you are notified when image(s) are ordered. The part I'm not sure of how to handle is the fact that you'd not be completing the order at all through SmugMug. Their forums at dgrin.com may be of help.
ETA: A less automated way would be to have the customer ad comments to the desired proofs instead of ordering. That would eliminate the "fake" order, but would require more interaction on your part. The positive aspect of doing it this way would be that the customer would have the opportunity to make specific comments regarding what they would like to see in retouching.

I have thought about that. I was recently directed to Pbase... trying out a trial there, it's just such a weird design and hard to use. Flickr could be great, but it's flickr and my clients would need flickr accounts, just doesn't seem very professional.

i use wordpress to do exactly what you're trying to do. it costs about $100 or so to get a hosted site, but it's mapped to your URL. you get unlimited storage for anything related to your site as well as the ability to set up unlimited ftp accounts. i create private galleries for my clients, they let me know what they want, and i upload full-res images to the ftp and send them download instructions. works like a charm.

there are tons of free-to-inexpensive themes that can be customized to your brand. you also get your own email addresses.
