Well, if misery wants some company, I tried cleaning my sensor using the scotch tape method (you know, to get rid of the really stubborn spots). Got rid of the sensor dust... along with a lot of the coating on the filter. I guess I won't be using that method again in the future.

Is the difference that big? Figured it was mostly FoV that differed between crop and FF.

Maybe I'm imagining things, but it seems like I can zoom and and get detail more than I could with the 40D.

You're not imagining it. It's true.

Yup, getting a better camera is always the answer.

I am nothing but an abyss. I use my crappy pocket camera.

I agree, it was well crafted, and would have been a loss not to see it!

12mm is even more UWA. My motto is, turn the volume up to 11.

I'm meeting the guy with the lens tomorrow and testing it out so he can empty my pocket of cash.

Money burning a hole in your pocket, Slippy. First the 5D and now the lens.

Did you finally collect all your pimp dues this month?

Imagine how great this shot would have been if you had full frame!! Did this slice of turkey jerky turn out ok in the dehydrator?

All I need now is a wide-angle/Fish-Eye lens, which I was just a bit too late to grab from ace flyman, doh!

The Sigma 12-24 is the widest rectilinear lens going. Mine's great

It's not money I have, unfortunately, especially with tax time in a week. But I'm justifying it by telling myself that the amount I'm spending on the camera and lens is the same as what I made on a photo taken with my old crop-sensor camera and wide angle crop-sensor lens, so it's a wash.

My pimp dues help pay for my morning coffee.
