I just signed for a complete CC bundle :)

On this computer I had a trial version of LR that is now expired. On the install manager LR seems upgraded but when I open the program it asks me a serial number. Any ideas? I don't want to download it again since it's already on my PC (I already have it mounted on my Mac).

Oh, for SURE the SSD is gonna speed things up. CC may be incrementally faster than CS6, but not so you'd really notice. It's the bells and whistles and upgrades that set it apart. I got an SSD, you know that right?

I am existing CC member and have 500GB SSD on my Mackbook pro and believe me it runs so far not just editing but also the saving file after creating lot of layers. I had tough time before when I had regular HDD and saving was taking hell lot of time. Now speed comparison between CS6 and CC, I do not see much different when it comes it runs on SSD (this I compare with my machine to one of my friend's machine)

I would say create copy of LR settings (most likely you will find in pictures folder on Mac and then uninstall and re-install. It would work. CC installer would take care of that behind the scene so you dont have to worry just click on install under CC manager and rest leave it on the program.

Well, I went ahead and signed up for the deal, even though I have been very lax with my photography over the last year. I have always used Elements with a few Topaz plugins, but I have felt hamstrung at times reading about the processing techniques you guys use with PS. Plus I have been hankering to try Lightroom. I figure that this may inspire me to pick up my photography. I briefly opened the programs last night and was immediately overwhelmed, then woke up this morning with buyers remorse. But a few beginners tutorials should calm the new program jitters and get me on my way.

did you see the link to Anthony's Lr Tutorials (I think on pg 5)...excellent tutorials, easy to listen to and I've learned quite a bit about Lr and I've had it for years...

Yes, I saw the link so I will be taking a look at them. The first thing I need to figure out is the catalog in Lightroom. The interface seems to be more integrated than the Elements Organizer and Elements, which are somewhat separate. But I only had the program open briefly last night.
