It would be fun to put 1 picture together with 8 pictures. No less and no more than 8 pictures. It would be interesting to see what folks come up with.

Okay, here are four suggestions. One is borrowed from other posts. That greeting card suggestion is a really good idea.

Mailboxes. Mailboxes come in all sizes and descriptions. Find an unusual mailbox and record it creatively. Or photograph a normal mailbox in an unusual way.

Sky Shots. Make a creative photograph where the main subject is the sky.

Copper. See what you can do with the metal copper as the main subject of your photograph.

Greeting Card. Create a card that depicts the Thanksgiving holiday. text okay. Turkeys are not.

Do you mean no editing period.. or open-ended editing?

If open-ended, I'd pass :) I don't have the desire to make digital art here. :)

Keeping all challenge suggestions to basic editing or advanced editing rules. The title could be what you would normally see on the card.

Parody - A literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect or ridicule.
' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/32/thumb/5434.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/32/thumb/5434.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/56/thumb/11003.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/56/thumb/11003.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/56/thumb/10886.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/56/thumb/10886.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

1. Hair
2. Movement
3. A challenge where the cropping ratio is manadatory eg. A landscape where the cropping has to be much taller than wide, say 3:1 in favour of height or a portrait that has to be wider than tall.

1. mailboxes, as suggested before
2. Speed (i.e. a panning shot of a moving subject)
3. Hair (or baldness ;-} I was just typing hair when I noticed enigmania's entry before me... ah, and also movement/speed.)

I would like to suggest the following:

1. Storefront... create an original composition where the main element is the storefore or window display. Storefront shots should be limited to shots from the ouside and not interiors.

2. Fashion of the 70's... Revive the art of the '70s. Whether music, art, clothing and accessories. technology.

3. white on white. Use white on your composition. Other colors are permitted but your subject should be white and the background white also.

That would be the challenge I would enter.

So I'm taking that as my sugestion too.

2. Flowershot's
Everybody knows that you won't score very high with flowershots because there are so many, let's do a complete challenge about it (300+ flowers wheeee) :-)

3. Copy
Try to copy a famous picture (Like this one from His Royal Kiwiness)
' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/198/thumb/64527.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/198/thumb/64527.jpg', '/') + 1) . '
Could be a copy from a ribbon winner also

I like the idea of making a parody of a previous ribbon winner. The title of the image could be the same as the original plus the name of the challenge it appeared in.

Educational institutions - such as libraries, schools, universities, museums and stuff like that. i just personally feel that they normally have a certain level of architectural interest and are somewhat beautiful, whether or not they're classical, drab or contemporary.

Derelict - Capturing something man-made that is in a state of disrepair, evidently not maintained for some time, is obviously unloved and uncared for. Could be anything, such as large-scale machinery (a tractor or something), a building or a toy (tri-limbed stars wars action figure, say).

Public telephone boxes - can't think why ;)

We are most likely to use challenge suggestions from users when those descriptions include both a title AND a description.

If you want to add descriptions to these (those who haven't already) we can add them to the database.
