Hi all.

Tomorrow the Christo Gates open in Central Park, NYC. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I have been waiting for this for awhile. It will be running from tomorrow to Feb 27th.

I will be around there somewhere this weekend.

Hope some of you can make it.

Vinny.

I'm so excited! It's going to be great. I'm going to go Sunday or Monday - if anyone wants to meet up. Let's get a group together! The weather isn't going to be too bad...

Bumping for anyone that didn't get this earlier today.

I still don't know exactly what the gates are, except they involve a lot of fabric. If anyone can tell me what exactly they are, I can't really find that anything on the news page, but I'm definantly planning on going next week when I get a chance.

Here are some links that may help out. Also, since they opened today, expect to see more media on this.

MSN has a story on the opening from this morning. There's a free vid too.

I think the project is really cool and I would love to be able to get away for a weekend to see it...but if I had $20m I can't say I'd spend it on something like that!

Anyone have pics to share yet?

I have pics!

I went early today but it was so ridiculously annoyingly packed. I'm going to go back on a weekday morning to avoid the hordes. Also, I'm going to try a lesser-traveled area of the park :)

But still, it was so beautiful, and I'm so glad I went!

Here are some pics, definitely more to come :)

Very nice, Katy! I especially like the first one. The last one is cool, too, with the backlighting. They are all nice. Good luck Wednesday, we'll look forward to seeing more.

Hey Katy,

Great Shots.

And I was originally going to go, but I had a feeling it would be very packed. I still might go today, but Tuesday looks like a great day right now. They say it will be the warmest day of the week, so I am gonna be around there then.

Thank you muchly :)

I'm thinking Monday (tomorrow) might be the best...I'm going to assume Monday mornings in the park are pretty tame!

But remember, good weather = lots of people!

Enjoy, have fun, lots o' luck, ciao!
