Good luck, elsapo. 6 favorites has to be a record, isn't it?

Maybe it's just this challenge, but I feel like that's just the same as saying the picture is just ugly. Am I wrong?

Ok... sorry, just had to vent.

It's a comment, and frankly, I think you should be "happy" you got one. If you don't feel it's constructive, don't mark it as helpful.

I feel the amount of bashing against COMMENTS in the forum lately has been very NON-CONSTRUCTIVE. Just my two rupees.

First off... I just said I was venting. I think I have just a right as anyone to be a little upset with a comment that basically just puts my picture down, and does not in anyway give an explination for the negative comment.

Second, don't worry, I didn't mark it as helpful.

Third, I would rather have one extremely useful comment on why my picture scored the way it did and what could have been improved both artistically and technically, than have 30 one line comments that say nothing. I just can't get behind the idea of nonconstructive commenting.

But... that's just my two cents.

Congrats on your 6 fav's, the most I had for a shot was 12 with this entry for Bizarre Nature.

The comments have been very favourable, so all I can think is that some people must also really NOT like it, and I am fine with that.

The suspense is almost over. Take a few deep breaths. lol
My guess is that it will be a high scoring challenge, but one never knows for sure until...

I think it will be...I scored quite generously though- perhaps it's because it's the first member challenge upon which I've voted ;)

I enjoyed this challenge so much I went back twice for bump-ups.

Good Luck Y'all !

this challenge really pisses me off.. I've been so close to 6.0 without crossing the border that I'm going mad...

my score is 5.9749 now
it started at 6.2 wit only a few votes, but after reaching 100 votes the score was 5.93 and went up to 5.97, then back down again, and so on and on and on....

this was supposed to be my first 6.xx, but that isn't about to happen.. and I have no familymembers or friends that are members on DPC to bump my score :(

Why on EARTH would you want someone to bump up your score like that just because they know you? I would never ever ever want to win a ribbon that way, I want to get my scores fair and square and not by cheating, I mean, come on, how could you live with yourself?

it's not that I want to, but it's a fact that many people here and on other sites with competition have friends vote to bump score, it's easy to see in the challenges here, especially when the contestant is Icelandic, and he gets comment written in Icelandic before voting is over, that only shows that other Icelanders know who that photo belongs to, and the voting is not fair since you usually don't give your friends a bad score.

maby that's why so many Icelanders do so well in challenges here ??
I know that many of them are friends ;)

Come on. How many people from Iceland do you think this site has? And even if they all did vote higher on other Icelanders (which I doubt amounts to many if any) do you really think that it would make that much difference? From my experience here great shots receive good scores, good shots moderate scores and not so good shots under 5 scores. Relax and go out and take some pictures.
