Hello. I'm new to the photography world and I have a Canon powershot pro1. What is the best picture setting to photo with in order for uploading to dpc and keeping utmost quality. My cammera has RAW format, 640x480, 1024x768, 1600x1200, 2272x1704, and 3264x2448.

Thanks in advance.

well since you have to upload it as a jpeg u might as well just save it as a jpeg and with 640 x 480, but i ususaly do max size and quality if i wanna use it for something else..printing for example. so Max is my sugjestion. u can always make it smaller but never bigger without pixelation or howerer you call it.

Try to stay with the largest size if you intend to print. If you just want to share with friends over the internet 640X480 is ok, but it's still better to use the biggest size in case you do want to print.

I always shoot at the maximum size and quality. That way, you have room to work if you want to crop out something distracting, and still be able to have a photo that is large enough for posting or possibly even printing at 4x6 for example. You never know when the picture you snap is going to turn out to be something so awsome, you want to print it and hang it on the wall. At that point, you will be kicking yourself for not shooting at a higher resolution. As lucas said, you can always resize smaller, but it is much more difficult to go larger without loosing significant quality.

Once you have that gloriously large photo, you then need to get it ready for submission. This tutorial might be helpful to you.
