I am looking for some comments on this sample peice.

I am exploring sirealism, and trying to get a look to say to people that "Hey that is so and so....".

I combined film with digital for the look I am after.

Comments please.

Thanks in advance.

That would be surealism. You definatly hit your mark. I think a more colorful sky would improve the image drastically.

Actually it's surrealism. ;)

I kinda like the effect, but I agree a more vivid sky would be even better. :)

looks awesome but needs a deeper sky :)

By the way,

just so those that don't know, or are new...

...I drive like I walk, and I spell like I talk, not very well.

I like it MUCH better. All the color definately added depth.

I like the second sky better, but now it looks too natural.
How about playing with that second sky a bit to make the style match the foreground a bit more.

In what way is this Surrealism?

This one is differant.

Look closly at the sky above the horses running.

Now you have lost the surreal part of it. Keep it flat as it was, just intensify the color. Like a simple blue or aqua. Didn't you ever study a Peter Max or a Dali?

but you are asking me to keep it natural looking, and I prefer it to be supernatural.

Did you look at the sky?

There are a total of 3 submissions. The last one is to be examined.

The first was less natural looking, Your new sky takes all attention away from the foreground. Now your image is too busy and all I see when I look is the sky and what is on the horrizon. It has lost the magic.

Yeah, I can agree with the too busy thing.

What about the horses in the sky? yes, no??

Yes, there are some darker clouds in the sky that, if you stretch your immagination, could be conceived as horses. The shapes aren't that distinct.

Otherwise, nice colours.

I say no. But it's your artwork. Try it back with a flat blue sky. Intense in color, nothing exotic, but flat in tone.

I'll keep trying.

I agree, too busy, to natural. Needs less color, more symbolism.

Thanks.

Going with my original gut feeling, but enhancing the bg as well.

uhm no offense, but I really don't see anything at all interesting in your picture. It's neither creative or art, but hey to each their own.
