Attention all of you with Simpleviewer galleries.....

There seems to be a bug with Firefox and our galleries don't show up. I get a page saying I need to install the Flash pluggin when I already have it.

I'm contacting Simpleviewer but in the mean time if anyone finds the solution, please post it here!!

Thx!!!

Works absolutely fine for me (I have never had a problem with SimpleViewer galleries) using Firefox 1.0.7 on Win2K with Flash Player v7.

Look near the end of this thread;

It's the 'flash version detection' javascript that's the problem.

Good luck in getting a response for the SimpleViewer vendor. I sent an e-mail regarding the Safari problem that was reported to me, but I have not yet received a response. I simply asked for suggestions on how to fix it.

And... as I said in the other thread:

I removed that flash detection code, then tested on Windows 98 and Windows XP with Internet Explorer, and in both cases, I didn't like the way it was handled. In Win XP, I almost overlooked the warning. On Windows 98, I just got a blank space where the gallery was supposed to appear. Netscape Navigator (a very old version) also produced undesirable results. So - deleting the flash detection code is not a viable solution IMHO.

I have been tearing my hair out trying to get my site back up from tyis strange bug. I finally found the solution. Extremely simple.

Go to:

//www.dithered.com/javascript/flash_detect/index.html

Download the "flash_detect.js" file

FTP it to your site

Clear your cache, refresh and then let the world know you're back!
