Well I'm not voting or commenting on any more until it's fixed. The old system had a few bugs, like recycling the images I had intentionally skipped before going on to images I had not seen, but that was something I could live with. This system now won't let me vote without showing me the image I just voted on with the comment I had just written gone.

Y'all get this fixed as soon as you can so I can get back to perusing the images. As it stands I will wait for the end of the challenge to look at the images.

I tried that too, but I wanted to go back and look at an image that I had just voted on and it screwed the whole thing up. I'll Wait.

Can you describe exactly what's happening, along with the steps we'd need to follow to recreate the problem?

here's what I noticed -

I'm voting along
I give a photo a 5 and it moves me on to the next photo
I use the back button on my browser because I want to change that 5 I just gave to a 6
The browswer takes me back to the photo I voted 5 on
I change the score to 6
The next image I am presented with is one I've already voted on

I pop out to the overview page, and pop into the next unvoted photo and all is well - not a huge deal, but you did ask.

hope that helps.

realized that this has already been discussed, sorry for being redundant again

All kinds, but you asked for an example. I went in from the first image this time as it was said I should do. I voted on five, maybe six images gave an image a comment and voted it a four then was taken to the next image. I pushed the back button and was taken to the previous image. My message was still there (this time) but there was no box around the number to indicate how I had voted. I voted four again and went to the next image and it had a box around the number four even though I hadn't voted on that image yet.

One example. Hope that helps. This was in the Mother challenge.

I've just noticed a tiny change to the voting page which makes a HUGE difference to the workflow of voting.

Small it may be and hardly noticed, but it gets a BIG thankyou.

Under the image being voted on, the type of challenge is now included in the challenge name. I 've used it heaps already. Guys - superb

In general I like the changes very much. But the random presentation of photos seems to have changed.

Previously if I looked at the thumb page, hit refresh, I would see the thumbs in a new, (random) order. Now they remain in the same order every time I look at the thumbnail page.

Was the change intentional? I'm not bothered either way, just curious.

I believe they always remained in the same order. They did for me anyway.

Interesting, they would change for me. Maybe it has something to do with IE settings. I have mine set to refresh each time rather than revert to cached pages. Could that be it?

BUG REPORT:-

1) In Colors II I commented and scored an image then pressed 9 to register the vote. When the next image appeared, the fields were already filled in with the previous image's score and comments.

Remedies attempted:
- Refresh = no change
- Hard refresh (Ctrl-F5) = no change

2) I returned to the Thumbnail page to try again. The image was gone. Eventually found it in my voted images all scored and commented - with the previous image's details. Edited and re-voted using thumbnail page.

To reproduce:
I can't seem to yet. Will report back as I continue voting. I picked this up easily as I comment on every image, so I could immediately see the error. I imageine it could easily be happening to others and not be noticed if their scores are similar during the first voting pass and no comments are posted at that time.

The images are always in a different order for me too. I use AOL. I thought that's the way it was suposed to be. lol. It sure is a pain in the butt though. Especially if I see a photo I want to look at, then go back, and have a hard time finding it again. If it were always in the same order, it would be much easier.

I've had this happen too, on one of the first images I voted on in the new system, but I haven't had it happen since... very strange!

Still not fixed.

And now i have just finished with my apologies in the Mother challenge for comments that ended up on the wrong entries.

It goes something like this: "Really sorry. I didn't put the below comment on your image. I commented on another and it ended up on yours."

In the mean time, there is a remove comment button off the comment link from the voting list page, and if you blank out the comments box and click >>, it will also also remove your comment.

I was just suggesting it as an alternative to making apologies. I am unfortunately out of town through Sunday starting tomorrow, so these fixes will have to wait until next week.

Here's the problem that I am having voting... (Note: I'm on broadband and have no issues with other sites loading.)

From the Thumbnail page I am trying to make a second pass on my votes and if I click on the number under an image it won't register the vote. I click refresh and the image is still in the same vote section. If I go into the image to change the vote it takes 20-30 seconds to load.

Since I am using Mozilla, I can open each change in a seperate tab to speed things along by loading six at a time and changing my vote one the first while the rest are loading.

A bit of a hassle...

I'm running into the same bug that nsbca7 was - I comment and vote on a photo, and then the next photo loads up with that same comment and vote. This is actually REMOVING the comment from the photo it belongs to, and placing it on the upcoming one where the comment is completely irrelevant. The same thing is happening with the vote.

Basically, from my vantage, both voting and commenting are crippled right now, which makes it very difficult for this site to function properly.

I'm having the same problem as _eug

I'm having that problem as well. I have to exit voting and start from the Home Page
