I always vote with a few windows open at the same time because my dial-up connection is so slow. I've found the same photos coming up either without a score, or with a different score to the one I've given them. I don't know whether the scores they receive at the end of the day with be the ones I intended for them or something else entirely. As for comments, I haven't even got the time to try - I can't manage to finish voting without making any.

Edit: I've just looked through the voting page for "Burst of Color" and I saw at least two pictures showing I'd voted 8 for them where I know I gave less. I've changed those, but I don't know how many others may have got the wrong score.

I'm sorry. New voting structure strikes again. I didn't leave this comment on your image. I put it on a different image and it ended up on yours. I wonder you weren't confused as to why i would post that to your image. Again, sorry.

Still putting this on images after the challenge. I thought you guys were working on this. I have to excuse myself from commenting until this is resolved. This is embarrassing.

Well maybe next week I can resume voting and commenting.

I've started voting on Best of 2005. I use Safari - and I open multiple windows to speed up voting. However, I have found that photos that I know I have not voted for are showing up with votes. Plus photos that I have voted on keep showing up as I vote on one photo. Makes me wonder about the accuracy of voting at this point.

I certainly will have to go back through when I am through voting to make sure (as well as one can remember after 800 photos to vote on) that the photos are ranked as I wished. In the Shapes II challenge - I found several times that a comment that I made on one photo wound up under another photo.

P.S. And some photos that I remember voting on are showing up with no votes.

confirm: multi window or multi tab voting is all haywire.. comments are ending up in the wrong photos, scores are ending up on wrong photos... altogether quite painful!!

Same problem here

Just pulling your leg my friend, looks to me I am heading to your kind of attitude, just being painfully honest, seeing that being 'positive' keeps kicking me in the nuts... Thanks for the 8 ;-)

I guess D&L are just trying to make the site better and ran into a few snafus. What can you do? I will just give my voting a break for a while and see what happens. Earlier in the night I started voting in the Best of and when I got done about 40 I went back to check them. I hadn't given anyone a ten at this point, but an image I had never even voted on had a ten. Hopefully it helps or hinders all the entries equally, but you never know. It's broke.

Is there anyone having this problem who is NOT using multiple tabs/windows to vote?

Also, if you are having this problem, please indicate what browser and OS you are using (including versions for both)

I'm using Safari 1.3.1, and no, I am not using multiple browsers to vote. I do, however, have multiple browsers open, if that matters. I'm using OS X 3.9

Does Safari do any type of pre-loading or pre-caching of pages?

Everyone is experiencing that. I'm only asking about the misplaced votes/comments issue.

As a workaround for the back button issue, after going back to a previous image, return to the thumbnail page and select the first thumbnail to continue voting.

Not a clue.

I have had misplaced votes & comments -
System details: voting in multiple tabs in firefox 1.5 on windows XP.
This is also evident in ie6 on windows xp whe nusing multiple ie windows.

Steps to reproduce Multi tab / window bug are:
open several images in multiple tabs (start with each tab / window 40-50 thumnails apart), start to vote, and observe the wackyiness that ensues!!

The only bug I can find in a single browser window is that it continues to present you with images to vote on after you have completed 100%, starting with your highest ranked photos, and working back through the remaining photos in score order.

Hope this is helpful.

Please read my previous post. I need to know the following:

What browser and operating system (including version) are you using?
Are you voting in multiple tabs/windows, or just one?
Are you using any kind of web acceleration software?

I am using Safari version 2.0.2(416.12)
I am using Mac OS X Version 10.4.3

I am currently running with Cable Modem using an Airport.

I've had multiple browser windows open, using tabs to have as many photos ready to vote as possible - to speed up the process and make it possible for me to vote on every image in a timely fashion.

What happens - I will choose random photos from several pages to begin my set of tabs. As I vote on each one, I allow the next photo to load while I vote on other shots. Then I come back. Before once I voted on a shot, it never came back up. Now shots that I have voted on are not only coming back up, but when I return to the pages of thumbnails they don't have votes. Other shots that I have NOT voted on are also showing up on the thumbnails with votes that I did not enter.

I have not commented on any photos this round, but in Shapes II, I made comments and then found that comment show up in the next frame for another shot. While I was able to correc this, (at least I hope I found all of them) it would be disconcerting to find a critique that did not match your photo.

In terms of your changes, if you are going to have a way to scan for photos with no comments - it would also be useful to scan for photos with comments so that you could double check and make sure that all your comments are on the right shots (at least while this bug is present).

If it is an incorrectable problem when using the multi screens and tabs - I think that is going to be a major issue for me in voting. Even using the faster cable modem where I am staying now, voting is time consuming - using the tabs and multiple screens significantly speeds up the voting process. I am travelling and have faster internet than at home and like most people I have only a limited amount of time to do voting.
