Here we go. In 2 hours time it's Fulham versus Atletico Madrid in the final of the Europa League!

//news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/8675486.stm

Although I've lived in Dublin for the past 20 years, Fulham is my hometown in London, and I've been a Fulham FC fan for as long as I can remember.

This is the biggest moment in their 131-year history.

Fingers crossed.

Anyway, tonight belongs to one team...

try telling that to Tiger Woods... I'll bet he'd show you a new way to use a 9-iron ;)

I'm sure he would...the saucy little devil :)

hmm.. according to topic this thread is about football that's not the siisy kind.. ALL football is for sissys ;)

just look how they cry, hug and slap eachothers asses when they finally score..

like it's a hard thing to get a 12" leather ball through a hole that's 250 sqft or 25x10ft and only one person in the way that can at best cover 20% of the goal..

try golf.. there´s a sport for those with talent, get a 1.5" ball, hit it with a stick and make it land in a hole 1000ft away, and the hole is only 4.25" wide..

if a football player would try that.. the hole had to be the size of the moon just so he'd have some chance of success...

Yes I have actually, while playing rugby at what you could call 'high school'. :) I had better luck with boxing.

I didn't read the entire thread, because I don't have time, but I just thought that I'd throw my two cents in for fun. That sissy American kind of football is the most sought after sport in the world, its the most watched, and the biggest single sporting event in the world is the Superbowl, so jump on the wagon, its a beautiful thing, even if foreiners can't play yet. LOL.

Well, Formula 1 is the most watched sport in the world, if you can call it a sport, it's an engine race with a sport twist to it... well, it's all a big roundabout for hours and hours, which I just totally don't get. I can at least see the interesting aspect of American football, but for me the greatest tv sports are NBA and tennis...

There is an old saying here in Texas about ya'lls version of football, or as we call it soccer....That is a sport for the boys not tough enough to play football, and for girls who are too ugly to be cheerleaders. Not necessarily my opinion...but thats the saying anyway!

Have you seen how they try to break eachothers legs, give elbows, step on hands and legs, do some crouch grabbing, hair pulling etc in soccer games? The American Footballers wear a shitload of protection. Who's the sissy here? :)

Honestly, I think both sports are incredibly hard on bodies. There is a misconception about the protection that American Football players wear- #1 if it protected you so well there wouldn't be so many injuries #2 American Football is designed from the ground up to be an incredibly violent game. I played up into High School. I can't tell you how many times I was at the bottom of a pile and some guy would decide to take cheap shots on me.
