Well the challenge is to submit your Best of 2002, and DNMC = DQ, so if we, as the SC, using our magic telepathy powers, feel that the photo is not your best from the year, we will DQ you ;)

I've got one exif and all. from a dslr. but it won't let me enter it, because the date it was shot is outside the correct range. LOL. Now I want to legitimately enter my thing for goodness sakes! :-D

hmmm - wonder if I have any pug butt pics from 2002? All my old pics are backed up on disks loacked awat at home. Guess I have to wait until I get off work to search for a pug butt

I had a Kodak DC260 and I just checked - it actually did record the exif data. :)

What's not so flattering is that I for some stupid reason chose to have date and time displayed right on the pictures....

Here's a good example in a picture I took of my wife and myself (with timer). The quality wasn't that bad I suppose but what a difference!

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/18655/thumb/314427.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/18655/thumb/314427.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

I found a few pictures from 2001. Nothing spectacular from 02.. 03 was a lot better.

I'll process one taking advantage of the ruleset, and hope for the best. :P

heh, everything I took in 2002 sucks... and I'd never set the date on my camera, so there's no EXIF :P

I didn't even make any photos is 2002... :-) I started it in 2003. Maybe next time, I hope I can achieve membership till that time, too.

Something just sounds April foolish about this speed challenge. <whisper> can we change our camera date to 2002?</whisper>

I did have an Olympus Introduces C-720 UZ back then but didn't backup any files and the computer that the files was on is long gone.

Not really. If you change your camera date, it's easy to find out if that camera was around back then ;)

Well, I'll play straight man for this one. I actually did submit my BEST photograph from 2002. Anyone wants to say to say otherwise, I'll see them in court :-)

Robt.

Yea I know, hard to argue that a 350XT was around back then. I was joking. I forgot the :) LOL

ok here's a question, i got DQed before because I viewed my image in ACDSee. Somehow it modified the EXIF file. As these were images taken prior to DPC, I have viewed these images a million times. Does anyone think the EXIF could have been modified? I look at the properties and it says that it hasn't but you never know. And I'm not saying I have a great photo(s) :P

The "Best of 2002" will NOT be a valid challenge in the WPL due to the fact that many photographers may not have digital images dating back four years.
04/01/2006 02:04:45 AM · #73
yeah i just read that too. thanks ;)
04/01/2006 02:05:11 AM · #74
I hope the voters remember that in 2002, digicams were not very high on the megapixel range. We're bound to see some pretty pixelated pictures.

This challenge could almost be renamed the "picture restoration" challenge - those with great post processing skills will obvious have an advantage here.

BTW, I'm in! (Although I had to use April 1, 2006 in order to get in.)
04/01/2006 02:07:54 AM · #75
i found four that will be good ;) i'll be in this one for sure ;)

i didn't realize but back then i had my 1 megapixel Minolta, a 2 megapixel Canon S200 and my Oly E10 ;) Woot!

Macpapas uis right.Langdon should just rename this "The Battle of the Low Pixel stars" :)
