it also tends to bias your judgment on the merits of the photo because you're emotionally attached to your subject. We've all learned that lesson the hard way a time or two ;)

i dont think I will get a Ribbon, but this is my 5th Challenge and its my best start.
As long I am making some progress and getting positive feedback, and I dont mean only "good" feedback, then I have got to be happy.

I think there are some wonderful portraits in this challenge
My score at the moment is 5.6000 with 2 comments

You are right about that. I should talk to some friends and encourage them to model for me.

Well, I survived the night. Looks like I got the usual suspects to worry about. GIS, you gonna beat Rikki for the 4th time in a row?

If it's not showing on the lefthand side of your front page, go to your Preferences page (under the My Home menu) and make sure you have the option to show scores ticked in the righthand column.

Ok, I didn't realize that "Main Page" translates to "My Home"... I was thinking you were talking about "My Profile"... Anyway, here are the correct stats...

I really had a lot of fun with my shot, but I'm taking a beating for it. oh well...

I'm really letting my team down here lately - Sorry! LOL Glad I at least redeemed myself a little with Textures & hopefully will again with Something Old. :-)

I just got one of the coolest comments on my pic. Had very little to do with the shot itself, but it described his personal reaction and why his reaction was (in my words) a bit radical. I realize that comments may be meant for critiqueing (sp?) technical aspects of a shot, but his description meant more to me than "it should have been cropped more" or "the lighting was awesome". What can you say - some ego stroking is nice. This comment made me feel great and that I had accomplished what I was trying to do in my picture. Which is really amazing since it has just been recently that I was trying to accomplish something more than taking a good snapshot of my kids.
