Proud in so many ways...

because it took you very long to get the shot you wanted, because it was your very first assignment, because it was difficult for you to shoot, because you won a ribbon with it, because it was your first shot in a difficult category, because....

just show them and tell your story!

I am proud of this one because I saw a candit moment and caught it...and it has the feel of a "professional" photograph.
This is one of my favorite types of photography...shooting streetlife.

this is mine. my comments on the entry might tell it all:

It took me at least 100 shots and 3 hours to get this result.
The bottle in my left hand, the glass in my right hand, the remote controller between my teeth, the camera in between.. very exhousting!

I'm still very proud of this one, the will to go on and make that ONE shot, the result that came out of my camera, AND the top 10!

Mine's this one. Why? Aside from the fact that I only had my 50mm 1.8, the sun was pretty harsh that day too. His dark skin in shadow made for a hard shot.

But I think most of all, it's the stories and lives this man affected. It was great to hear from one of our Icelandic friends that she met this same guy in 1987 at the same spot!

Indeed, laughter is the best medicine ;)

The story is included in the comment section of the image.

I think these two very old ones from about the same time compete for that designation ...

It seems strange to be proud of a picture that has a dead body in it, but I saw the shot and I took it. I didn't set the picture up, ask people to pose, this was a real life situation, and I did the best I could with the equipment I had on hand.

This is the only one of my pictures from the Gallaudet protest in my DPC gallery, but I'm pretty proud of all of them. Partly just because I was so happy about how much of what was being signed I actually understood... my signing is pretty rusty these days.

My favorite ever. Everything came together on this one. The DOF was perfect, the B&W conversion is sublime, the expression is wonderful.. it all just worked on this shot for me. I've never been able to duplicate it.

My stepdaughter out with me late (for a school night) at the beach. She's 7 and loves to take pictures. I think she can fill up a card quicker than I can. I'm proud of her because she'll try things that I think wouldn't work (but sometimes do), and because no matter what, she is able to like her pictures and not be critical like I am of mine.

Comments are welcome.

Of course, part of being able to capture this image was being in the location itself but I also had to work to catch this shot - I lay flat on my belly on the rather cold and penguin-poo covered ground for about an hour waiting for just the scene/ composition I was hoping for to materialise in the group of penguins I was focusing on. It came out better than I'd hoped and I'm really pleased with it.

I guess this would be the one I'm most proud of. I had just gotten my camera and knew next to nothing. This was just one of those once-in-a-lifetime (at least for me) moments with a friend in Jamaica where I feel everything worked together. It does have it's flaws but I think his spirit shines through.

This pic is of the first time my dad and son really got to hang out with each other. They have been together before, but not very often and not in situations where they spent alot of time with each other. We live in different states and don tget together many times in a year. They had a blast camping together and I had a blast watching them together.

prolly this one, because i spent the least amount of time editing.
i was disciplined, for a change.

One of the first times I got up the nerve to make a picture of a total stranger - and he was so good at what he was doing, and he let me make a number of images of him.

Plus, a museum in Massachussetts asked if they could use the image as part of a presentation on "artists at work". I was very proud of that.

because it was the first shot I really set up. I paid attention to the lighting and used something specific for the background. These were things I had learned here at DPC and I was so excited to be able to put them to use to achieve a pretty photo. The comment I got from the critique club helped a lot for me to understand the macro techniques.

I'm also proud of the fact that the photo was in good focus, despite not having a tripod then, and my title! I wanted a title that incorporated the numbers and also the "sun-like" apperance of the die.

edit: I was so happy to see that Session Manager saved what I wrote when Firefox crashed that I forgot to finish a sentence. :)

I loved this shot from the moment the idea began to develop. We were shooting normal portriats and then my model had the idea of putting the flower in her mouth. I took one and didn't think I liked until I was going back through them. I started concentrating on this idea, she put her hands up almost in suprise, then I realized her eyes needed to big. I meticulously placed the lights for the background and everything came together. I knew I had it all perfect, told my friend to open her eyes as big as possible, and snap, this was the last shot I took and I knew it was the best before even editing them out of 60 or so.

I took these snapshots of my girls when we had a little snow. I then bought fotofusion just to put these togrther like this. Without a doubt it is the one photo I am most proud of. Even though they fight all the time. I think this image shows their love for each other.

This one, because it's the first time I've taken such a picture, because I took it with my favourite lens, and because the post processing turned out just as I wanted it to:
