Jamie - you were born the year I graduated highschool. God I feel old!

Your portraits are really nice. Processing is great too, they have a nice "feel" about them. I'm not fond of the backlighting in the first one, but the rest of them are great. The 4th is definitely my favorite, great tones in your b/w conversion.

I really like the fourth one and the second one.

I like the fourth one because the DOF is perfect. I love that her hand is out of focus, it really draws attention to her face, which is really sweet. It's a very becoming portrait.

The second one I like because of your choice of processing. It's not as overdone, in my opinion, as the last one. I like the colors and the textures. It's got great lighting and tone.

I'm not in love with the first one because I think a slightly sharper exposure would work better with her expression.

The third one looks a little to contrived for my taste. (I know, they're all "contrived" in a way, but it's just kind of overdone and doesn't really fit the personality of the girl you've chosen to shoot - at least not to me who doesn't know her.) Maybe if her eyes were closed, or something like that. She just looks really posed unnaturally, but trying to look natural. (Does this make any sense?)

The last one is a little overdone for me. I think it looks tons better in the thumbnail than in the larger version. It would work well blown up and put on a wall so that I could really stand back from it. Of course that what we're ultimately going for - I don't think anyone's satisfied with something staying on the computer for ever! I'm just saying as it's presented now it doesn't work that well for me.

Hope this helps!
