Which of these two photos do you like better, the color or the black/white version?

I like the color. More depth. The contrast seems a bit strong though...

The B&W one looks good too, as it makes the subject pop a bit...

I'm partial to the B&W one myself. But then again, I tend to lean that way anyways. Love your model! :)

Btw, it looks like you did more to the color version (editing wise) and that more than anything has me liking the b/w version better. I think both could work just fine if the editing was the same.

Tough call, Color shot has more feeling but it's really dark. B/W has nice background, but is too bright. I vote for somewhere in between...

Very observant. You're right. I did the b/w version quite some time ago, and have learned some new editing techniques that I wanted to try out on the color version.

I wonder what would happen if you tried to use the color version over the original and used opacity to tune things down a bit? I got a distinct overprocessed feeling from it...

Me being me, I'd probably throw the B&W version in the mix and muck about with layer modes (luminosity most likely) with low opacity.

I'm like you too! Even my photos that have little editing I tend to try everything in the book just to see how it looks.

I think the photo would look better as sepia. When I look at the picture I see desert. I see brown. I see sepia!

I like the color one better. But it is too sharp.

anything looks good in black and white, it takes skill to make things look good in color. I love the color one, good job.

The subject and background beg for a nice B/W treatment IMO. The B/W you've posted isn't near the quality of the color image however. How did you convert to B/W? Contrast and Highlights/Shadows scream for some attention on the B/W.

To clarify my rambling above: The B/W has lots of potential. ;^)

The sepia idea tossed out might be an interesting look also.

Have fun!
