I am feeling very sad today, and I don't know why.
When I feel like this, I usually try and visit as many portfolios as I can, especially ones that I haven't seen before, and leave some comments. I have done this, and still feel sad.
I have no real reason why I feel like this, so don't really understand. Maybe it is because yesterday was such a huge high for me, re having one of the very best days re getting a huge high, re some images that I had the experience to photograph.
Maybe, it because my husband has been under a health scare, and I rely on him so much, that I am down because of that.
I don't know why, but hope someone out there has a few minutes that they can spare, to cheer me up please.
I guess I will be ok, as these times sometimes come to me when coping with things I can't deal with. My medication sometimes does cause me to be sad and teary as well. Life is like that, with some big ups, and also some big downers.
Today is rollover day as well, so sometimes I am a little disappointed as well, re some of my images that I love, don't seem to be doing so well.
Thats life, but it sometimes hurts more, when one is feeling like the way I am feeling today.
I just wish I could wave a magic wand, and make it all better.

Sherryl, I have days like that, too. When they happen, you think "I shouldn't be this sad!" and try to talk yourself out of it, but sometimes you just need a bit of time to BE sad, you know? And always know that soon it'll pass.

Don't let your score on your pictures bother you too much - I know some of my favorites are out there now and not scoring so well either. That doesn't mean I like them any less or that they aren't "good". They're quite good enough for me, and that's just fine. Same goes for you!

Maybe spend some time editing some of the photographs you took yesterday. Try some really weird things just for fun - add filters, go artistic, go wild! (Just remember to always save the original somewhere else before you start, of course!)

Oh, and I'm sending a hug your way, too. :-) HUGS!!!

Ahh, that magic wand would come in handy some days, wouldn't it? I think Melethia has some good advice though. Sometimes you do just need to be sad for a short time... then afterwards, the good times seem even better!

Grab your camera and head outside. I usually go for a walk with my camera when i get down. Sometimes i might not even take any photos, but I still enjoy myself.

Maybe check out the Gold Coast Photographic Society website. Their next meeting is Thursday, 14th of September.

Hi Sherryl,

You have been kind to comment a few pics that I've posted in recent weeks. I hope you will take a few minutes to look through my portfolio. Here's why: I'm on a nice path to becoming one of the hundreds of dpc success stories. I just started two months ago, but I know that I've improved quite a bit in that time. The main reason is this website, and I've come to learn that you are big part of this awesome community. So your significant involvement has in turn motivated me and helped me to become a better photographer.

Very best wishes,
Josh

Sheryl... I know how you feel about being sad sometimes... i've had a rough week myself... but sometimes i think we're meant to have those weeks... if it werent for some bad times, we would never be able to appreciate the good times for what they are!!

aside from that I just wanted to thank you... you left me some very nice messages in my portfolio, and I really appreciate it. I am definitely a beginner to this stuff, and I get very discouraged when a shot I think is really good, doesnt score well... but it was nice to read your comments and feel some positive support!! So thank you!!! your comments really mean a lot to me as I can tell they do others as well...

Cheer up girl!!!!
Jeannie :-)

Thank you so much and love the personal message to me as well. You all rock and are helping me to get through this day so much easier.

My dearest husband Peter, just walked through the door with a bunch of flowers, some gerberas for me, so I know I am special, and thats what counts.

I am going to take make the day better, with all your positive thoughts, and once again thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Hang in there girl...
I actually do what Deb suggests, allow myself some time to be sad and have a pity party, and then I get lost in PS and edit like mad....
The 30 day self portrait thing is a great way to keep your mind focused on something other then lifes sucky problems!

You know things could be worse...and remember they will get better :-)

This image is just stunning, ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/17851/thumb/234839.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/17851/thumb/234839.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' actually breathtaking.

Yes, it certainly has helped to cheer me up just a little, and enough to leave a comment, and also add it as a favorite as well.

I think it would be in my "top ten" very best images of all time re DPC.

Hey girl!! When I'm feeling sad I like to listen to this song... I also like to listen to it when I'm happy :) It works both ways!! It's called "Life is Wonderful" by Jason Mraz.

PS: Thank you for mentioning your photo opportunity, as it sparked my curiosity... I wandered into your portfolio and saw your rugby shots. WOW!! They are so sos ossosoosoooooo GREAT! I favorited a couple of them. The post processing is absolutely fabulous. Truly inspiring work!!

LYRICS

It takes a crane to build a crane
It takes two floors to make a story
It takes an egg to make a hen
It takes a hen to make an egg
There is no end to what I'm saying

It takes a thought to make a word
And it takes a word to make an action
It takes some work to make it work
It takes some good to make it hurt
It takes some bad for satisfaction

Chorus: La la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life is full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Al la la la la

It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to you yawn brother
It takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

It takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
It takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes some dust to make it polished

[chorus]

It takes some silence to make sound
It takes a loss before you found it
It takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to know you care
It takes a hole to make a mountain
