hello!

teams seem to be so much fun!
I really would love to start another one:

team chasing butterflies.

I don't quite know what the criteria to set up a team are. I don't know if a team should be "about" or "for" something, but I would like Chasing Butterflies to be about anything weird and surreal, about old times and times we won't see, about fantasy and dreams which still look "real". does it make sence? :) I so hope it does!
would someone like to join this team?
I have to warn you: I am not a professional photographer, I am a beginner.

have a beautiful day!

Svetlana

Most of the teams you see are for the WPL (World Photography League). It is currently in its third season, hence WPL3.

I'm not certain but I believe you would have to wait until next season to begin, but I don't know when that would start. Always good to get the recruiting done early. :D

The WPL Team Sign-up page is likely your best first step to get a team in the next season. Scott is the organizer and will no doubt be in contact with more details if needed -- or just PM him directly if you want.

thank you so much dear David!
it's much clearer now:)
as far as I understood I have to already have a team to sign up there.
I will contact Scott!
thank you and have a great day:)

There is an alternative to the ubiquitous WPL. You could bring your team to the Suck League and compete there, if you wish. Only our scores suck.

Yes, your ideas would fit in nicely with our group! We are very supportive of each other.

scores that suck...it seems like my cup of water:)
the only problem is that I don't have any team yet!

I'd like to be on a team and my photos definitely suck but do I have to be a member first 'cos that's not in the budget for awhile.

Actually you don't have to be a member.

hi Bobbie! hurrai! :) now we have a team of two:) that's a great beginning.
btw, your photos do not suck!

who cares about the membership? since we are members we create our own rules, right? so everything is possible in our team! and no other rules or borders.
;)
welcome!

FYI, Team Chasing Butterflies will be competing in Team Suck. We are very different than the WPL and worth checking out, imho.

If you are considering this at all, please check out ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' silverfoxx's work. It's fun and exciting and well... she describes it perfectly in the original post.

This could be a good opportunity for a supportive environment for someone who likes to experiment and try new things, which often gets a lot of flak around here.

I would love to join team chasing butterflies as long as you don't mind having someone on your team that has a cheap camera, doesn't take photos very well, has not been in many challenges, has not even taken many photos lately due to moving/new job, etc... I do truly suck but I have been chasing butterflies all my life and have never caught one.

you are more than welcome Doug!
I am a complete amateur myself:)
let's see if we can finally catch some butterflies.

Thank you Svetlana :) oooooooo this is exciting I love your photography! Hopefully this will give me the courage to step out into some more interesting 'stuff', of course that will result in truly sucky scores LOL

is it a rule that we have to have 5 members in our team? we have 4 now...
12/03/2006 06:56:31 AM · #18
Well if you need a 5th, I suck worse than a dyson, just entered my first challenge and canít even get a 4.5. I want to chase butterflies too although I live in the desert..

hmmm, where'd you come up w/that team title? I might be interested in joining, but I only have a couple of shots like the theme your are talking about. Still, I don't really know the rules and ligistics of being on a team...what does it involve other than 'competing' against other teams?

hello Alans world and Blue moon!

about the name: it's a n english version of La Chasse aux Papillons - a nice, etherial perfume from L'Artisan Perfumeur. I love the name and even made a photo for it:
' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/65886/thumb/405776.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/65886/thumb/405776.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

you are very welcome! I only don't know if it's fine wit 6 members. I personally think the more the merrier:) let's ask someone from the suck league
12/03/2006 09:45:42 AM · #22
go here

This is what I suggest:

Since alans_world asked first he would be on Chasing Butterflies and Blue Moon would be on Out of Focusers.

Being new here, and not really not knowing anybody yet. I suggest maybe whom ever thinks a 45 year old concrete finisher, with a sometimes deranged sense of humor, fits in better, thatís where I want to go. I donít want to break up any friendships.
