When you see her around a rope bridge or anything over 2 feet off the ground, you'll understand her concern. But since she usually doesn't HARM herself or require paramedics, I'll prolly let her come along.

Hey, why am I just hearing about this? I've been there once for my brother's wedding. He got married on the pier outside the main lodge, but I barely remember the weekend, as I was sick as a dog. What I do remember is that its quite beautiful, if not a little over developed. April 14th, hum...

as of right now, nards656 and I need to be taken off the list. as bad as we hate it. :(

we will be in TN that weekend, but in Sevierville -- the TN air museum has a "fly in" of vintage warbirds, and our 5 year old absolutely LOVES this event. it is also on the 14th, so . . . the 5 yo and airplanes win out. soz.

Looks like I could squeeze this one into my budget if anyone wants to split the cost of a room...

I promise to leave the cheese at home... LOL

If you have a tent they allow up to three tents per campsite but only nine people max. I will have 4 on mine

So you can set up your tent on my campsite and it won't cost you a penny

Yup - we have decided to camp... figure for what the room would cost, we could pay for enough camping gear to last a couple years.

I want to point out that the restaurant does a pretty good job with their food, but it IS 'home style cooking'. They do offer a menu, but most people simply eat from the buffet. (Haven't been there at breakfast time, but imagine it would be the same.) We come in from the Hwy 30 entrance (Pikeville), and there do not seem to be any major stores nearby - convenience stores only.

We really do enjoy cooking out, and probably will do that for at LEAST one big meal (probably Saturday night, maybe Friday evening too). If no one has guessed, the Ross family reeeeaaallly loves to eat!

Eden, JoJo, and anyone else who can offer more info, please do! (not JUST food info...)

((Leroy, we're glad to have you on board!!!))

I am biting my tounge here.......

It has been known to snow here as late as the end of May :) I think I may go rent out all the rooms and when you camping people come begging for a warm place to sleep, I will rent it back out by the bed $300 is fair right?? ;)

hehe

Well the wife resceduled an insurance class so she could be with me on March 3rd to meet some of you guys. And they resculed it for April 14th and 15th. So I may not be able to make it.

She wants me to go without her and just take the kids which I may do but I will let you guys know.

Eden and I are having issues too. Our sons are on the same TBall team and it turns out they have a game on the 14th at 9:00am and both of our husbands are coaches (kinda hard to sneak out of the game). Soooooo, we're trying to figure something out. We may not be there until much later in the day, stay the night and probably spend time shooting Sunday morning. We'll update later when we've come up with a plan.

I sure hope you guys make it :(

I was bummed about ATL and am looking forward to meeting you all at FCF!

I hate that you guys may not make it, & really hope things work out. Glenda & I loved coming down last weekend, and seeing / meeting everyone.

It does have me wondering though - are there many people who plan to show up Friday evening? I will probably take vacation for Friday, and will go early to 'save' a couple of camping spaces for people. If the weather cooperates I plan to be an early riser on Saturday, to get some nice sunrise shots of the lake, mountains, etc. Of course, that may depend on the previous night's festivities...

Also, ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' TCGuru has graciously offered to serve as a 'tour guide', if anyone would like to like see if they can keep up with her! Jojo is a very friendly & giving person, and I'm sure she won't get anyone lost on purpose... well, besides me! (Thx Jojo!)

Glenda & I are already getting irritable about Spring taking entirely too long to get here this year, and we cannot WAIT for this GTG!
