Simple algebra. If you are a member, you can see your score real-time, not just once an hour. So, if you keep close-enough tabs on your score, it's easy to do the math. The more votes that come in, the more difficult the algebra gets.

ooo, i'm up to 3.25.

noisemaker, this astounding shot was taken with teh 50 mm. might want to reconsider. :P

thats funny, mine was taken with a 50mm too. And the score keeps dropping.

I never tested it in Open Office, but there is a freeze/pane in place. With the mouse in the green area, try scrolling up until there aren't any hidden rows. The formulas start in the first green cell and that cell must show a vote count of 1 or greater. If nothing is there, the average vote cast field can't calculate.
