so, did the guy pointed the laser to your son's eyes, or did he not?

I would have written down his license number, called the cops to complain AND called his workplace to raise Hell. Ask them if it's company policy to harass and risk blinding children and remind them that since he's their employee and at work while doing this that they share the liability for any damage to your son's vision and that you fully expect to be compensated for tomorrow's visit to the eye doctor.

Justified.

...but I'm subtracting 2 points for not getting a pic.

Yup... justified. I would have got the business name and called his boss and told him my kid was patrially blinded and in the ER. Or called the cops and let them tell this dip-stick he was risking some serious legal problems.

Justified!

The guy with the laser pointer was just too dumb to know better, and probably didn't mean any harm - but he needs to learn about respect of others.

IMHO, your response was perfect based on the description in the story!

Cheers,
Ralf

Next time, put dark sunglasses on before the flash -- he will spend the rest of the day wondering what he forgot. :D

Would be even funnier if the rifle were actually a squirt gun and you hit him with it AFTER he peed his pants :P

At my school when a kid is mean to another and the other kid retaliates, we call that “natural consequences”. Seems to me truck driver experienced a little retribution.

I was being stalked through a parking lot in St. Augustine one day by a woman in a car, the woman wanted my parking spot but wasn't happy with the speed at which I was walking to it so honked at me. I stopped in place, turned around and shot a great pic of her angry face right through her windshield. Then continued to my car slowly! :P

You should post it! I bet it'd be a great candid.

Not really but maybe he will think the next time he wants to play with a laser pointer.

Darkened in processing, if you can believe it!

There is a picture but it of the lens cap. I didn't take the lens cap off. I just turned on the camera, popped the flash and pressed the shutter. Camera was in the M-mode. If you want to see that pic I can upload :)

Well in our part of the world pay back is a bitch! :-P
