used F8 to get the sparkle, and needed about 2.5 seconds of exposure.

Now, that is so neat! I just love the balloons that got up on the ceiling and your relaxed look at the end.

Just a fantastic job! I looked at it a few times!

Thanks for the fun!

They work a lot better out of focus, otherwise all you get a really small, hot highlights that don't let you see anything...

Austin has a big, wire Xmas tree at this time of year:

' . substr('//www.pbase.com/image/24055378/small.jpg', strrpos('//www.pbase.com/image/24055378/small.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

...which makes for interesting abstracts...
' . substr('//www.pbase.com/image/24055376/small.jpg', strrpos('//www.pbase.com/image/24055376/small.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

All the kids go inside and underneath the lights, look up and spin around
until they fall over...

Real nice tree.

You probably spoil your cats like my wife spoils her Pomeranian :)

Pets are so great :)

We use to raise Siamese cats when our kids were young but then we fell in love with dogs. Right about the time our oldest son was in about 7th grade and dragged home a homeless beagle puppy that we later named Digger (for all the holes he dug in the back yard).

I told them to post signs in the neighbor hood to try and find the owner and nothing ever happened. I always claimed they put the signs on the wrong side of the telephone poles! LOL

Our oldest son has a birthday during December and I know it can be hard getting the attention you want what with the biggest day of the year coming up :)

Happy B-Day and congrats on the gift.

Just think you can turn those new lights on and save on the heating bill! LOL

BTW .. that big pink package under the tree was my birthday gift - which turned out to be 1000 watt halogen lamps :D They are great!

Very well said.

Here in Texas the 10' real tree were easy to find. All you had to do was drive to the wealthy part of town were the BIG homes were and dig out your wallet and credit card.

We went to a local tree farm one year and here in Texas it was a joke!

LOL

We have two artifical trees one is a 10' Mountain King
and the other is a 7 1/2' artifical.

The 10' tree is from when we were younger and had lots of energy.
Every branch is separate and it takes hours to assemble.

Our boys always wanted a real Christmas tree when they were younger. And did not understand why we did not buy one every year. Now that they have grown and have their own homes they would not dream of dragging a real tree in their homes :) Life can be funny like that.

But like you say whatever floats your boat :)

Just remember the true meaning of why we celebrate that day :)

My current tree...from a box It is hard to find a 10 plus footer year after year.

"Merry Christmas To All and To All A Good Night" Tomorrow I'm Getting A CAT Scan.

LOL

Bottom line though.......whatever activity that succeeds in bringing you and yours together, for a moment of peace and love during the Holidays.....may it be reward enough.
