If no one else can get West Virginia, I might be able to make the drive down for a day of shooting, but I would have to find a good spot first. If someone is from WV, by all means send it to them, but if not WV isn't too far of a drive for me.

Bill, I had suggested the same thing ... I can drive 1 -1.5 hours to a few good spots in WV. But I'm already doing VA so better if we can have someone different. Anyway, I know of some good spots in north-central WV (along Rt. 50 or Rt. 522) so PM me if you need any suggestions. (I actually had thought of a really great one in Bath/Berkeley Springs.)

Duck should start its journey in about a week. I will make a blog for it so everyone can upload their photo to it.

Rubber Ducky might have some harrowing adventures. If you are going to have ducky do anything extreme, please use a life line so he does not get lost. It would be so sad if we lost him off a cliff, in a river, down a glacier, grabbed by a monkey at a zoo, etc. Perhaps a life line could be included with the ducky so no one forgets 'safety first'. :P

I'm not sure if it would go against the spirit of the whole adventure, but it may be less expensive and a lot quicker for everyone to purchase a particular brand and model ducky locally instead of sending the same ones all over the country by mail. It may work if there is a popular model that is available everywhere in one of the larger chain stores. It would be easy to replace if it were to have a bad experience. This would also keep ducky looking fresh and rested.
I like the idea of having the same one travel the journey though. It is just the principle of the idea.

Well seems there has been a mad rush on Rubber Duckies in North GA. I have been to these stores:

Wal-Mart - 3X
Target
K-Mart
Dollar Tree
Dollar General
Big Lots
Hobby Lobby

They are all out of them. So I hopped on Ebay today and bout a 3 1/2" Rubber Ducky. Had to buy one with two smaller ones. I rushed shipping and he should be here in a few days.

Obviously his name should be Ernie, after the Sesame Street character.

A couple suggestions:

Rob O'Docky
Quackers
Squeek! (If it's one that squeaks, and yes, the exclamation mark is part of the name)
Bill

We should name this project the Ducky National Mail Chain (or DNMC for short).

I like Seymour, exactly for the reason Terry said.

Oh, maybe it wasn't so obvious. Ernie sang the song "Rubber Ducky".

Just wanted to update everyone. I have assigned ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' ericwoo Georgia and I will take the photo of the duck leaving but Georgia will count when he returns.

I have put up a blog on google. When you get the duck there will be a paper with him with a list of who all this duck is going to. Just get the address of the next person on the list. Included on that paper is the blog web address, logion, and password. This way everyone can post their own photo and write something.

With any luck Seymour will be on his way in a few days. Hopefully Friday.

Also still need volunteers for these 3 states:

Nebraska -
North Dakota -
West Virginia -

Anyone close?
