eta; there's also a few other folks' stuff there, besides what belongs. I'm contacting those people, in case they're interested.

...and my photo is there too! Thank you Sheila

I suspect that Nicowind is simply showing shots she likes rather than trying to claim them as her own, as she has another album titled "my horse photos". I asked her to remove it. If she doesn't, then I'll report it, but I don't think it was malicious intent, so I'll give her the chance to fix it first.

Webshots/Mozingo1/nicowind update;

I flagged Mozingo1's dragonfly album with this note, "stolen, along with the rest in this album, from Martin Amm. This is one of several places Martin has them on display;
//photo.net/photodb/member-photos?user_id=2109438&include=all"

and got this email from Webshots today;
"We have deleted the image(s) from the Webshots Community and notified
the member who uploaded it that our Terms of Use prohibit the posting of
infringing images. Although we have deleted the image from the
Community, it is possible that the image may have been cached on our servers,
and it may take a few days for the cache to clear. However, within 24 hours
the photo should no longer appear in the member's album or topic pages, and
members will not be able to download it.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions or
concerns regarding the Webshots Community and thank you for calling
this member's posting to our attention.

Thank you,

Now that I know that action is possible without having to go to the copyright division, I'll contact them with the Mozingo1 story and see if there's anything they can do.

As for the horses in Nicowind's album; I left her a message giving her a chance to remove before I reported, but she's been into her account and didn't do anything so today I reported mine and also said that the other 26 marked copyrighted_image etc were taken from here as well. So we'll see... :)

I contacted Martin Amm a few days ago & let him know of the problem, too. He politely replied with a BIG thank you.

Seems we ALL helped, so I'm sharing the gratitude :D

Lol, his brother didn't take it too calmly. Martin didn't post any messages but Stephen did. Of course they were all removed :)

Nicowind's album that contained so many DPC horses was removed today.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/0-999/46/120/9482.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/0-999/46/120/9482.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' is in pippskweke3275's album. I left her a POLITE message pointing out that it was copyright, giving her the link, and suggesting she may want to remove it. (When that doesn't work, I'm not always so polite ;) )

Take a look at her response, after deleting my post and closing her messages to further posts;

not quite so polite!

She also left a rude one on my messageboard. So yeah, I flagged Rackat's photo too, so it should be down soon.

Webshots must have threatened Mozingo1, I think, since I've reported him/her several times. Yesterday he once again claimed that he was just posting shots from Faye's albums and didn't know they weren't all hers. Today he posted that until he can go through them all, he won't be posting any more.

Funny thing is, one of the shots I proved was stolen was one he claimed was the flower arrangement on Faye's casket! Hmmm... tricky that she could have had THAT one in her files...

Oh, and a quick search of mozingo1 and maf04 shows sites with new accounts in the name of Faye, created after her "death".

*sigh* The only reason I'm still pursuing this is that there really are some very nice and honest people who are wasting their time and goodwill on this fraud. We even got one of them as a DPC member through all this :)

I had sent webshots an e-mail about my horse photos, and also got a very nice response regarding my shots. They told me they were going to remove my photo(same e-mail as BeeCee) . I checked and noticed that all the copyrighted horse shots are gone. Thanks to all who stay on top of this one photo at a time.

Sheila, you are either amazingly patient or amazingly bored.

As for being "not so nice," I'd hate to get on your bad side before the coffee is poured. lol

ten pages of posts talking about stolen photos

When will DPC respond with a way for us to protect our photos?

A whole site with gigs of photos with not a watermark to be found = DPC
(and it places high in Google searches so it's easy to find)

It's ridiculous that we get to have an email tell us when we have a comment before this is addressed.

Simply the ability to upload two images, one for the competition, and one that is watermarked that will displayed after the challenge would go a long way. It doesn't have to be a wiz-bang solution - just give us the ability to protect ourselves.

Eug, it comes from being married to a snorer! Last night I went to bed early so I could get to sleep before him, hoping his noise wouldn't wake me. Woke at midnight, tried to convince my body that it reallllly didn't need to pee, it argued and won.
Of course I got up just as he was coming to bed, so I knew there was no point in even trying to go back.
I was too tired to do anything requiring brains or creativity so I started searching.
Hey, it passed the night, so that when he got up at 6 I was ready for bed! (I got up at 1pm)

Oh... and you do NOT want to get onto my bad side before I'm finished the first pot! Of COFFEE, I mean... sheesh...)

Hello all. I have come to the conclusion the people on WS just don't care that she continues doing her thing. It seems that no matter what any of us say they won't believe she isn't dead.

In my research I found some young people on my space from her area and she has a son that uses it. In looking at his site I noticed that in his comments back & forth to his friends there is no mention of his losing his mother in August. He openly testifies to being a Christian (Which I find refreshing) and as a Christian it saddens me that his mother behaves in this manner. She certainly hasn't been much of a role model. WITH THAT BEING SAID I am going to try to be more active with my photos.

I get too focused on my quests for trying to find "the truth" and fail to do the more productive & beautiful things like taking & posting photos. I have neglected my friends on WS's because I got too wrapped up in trying to expose her. At least I can take solace in the fact that you guys & gals are wise to her.

By the way "Jerry" has deleted his 3 a week album and said "he" is going to go through all of "Fayes" photos before posting anymore. I am going to send "her" a personal email through the Yahoo group that we belong to and tell her personally what I suspect and see if I get any response. I doubt it will do any good but it is worth a try.

See what I mean??? I don't know why I have become so "obsessed" by this subject but I have and it is hard to let go of. I feel like a pitbull I just can't release it. I think I need to visit a MH counselor!!

And Sheila I stay up all night and sleep all day too. I am going to catch up on this thread.

I certainly appreciate the fact that all of you have continued to assist with this. I didn't know about the arrangement from the casket. You are right there are way too many great people on WS's that are having the wool pulled over their eyes and it is disheartening to me to watch it. I try not to visit the site because it just ups her "stats" I am repulsed by the amount of friends & fans she has collected with her stolen photos.
I am thinking about signing up for a full membership but again I have to say my photos are more in line with WS's quality than those of you on this site. Don't get me wrong there are some members on WS's that are super talented photographers, but the majority of us are just average. Catch you later, Bonnie

*chuckle* I think the "3 a day" was the album I reported with several references to the originals. Today the rose album that she claimed to have taken at a garden center show disappeared after I left the simple comment, "Do I really need to post the links to these?" (They were almost all taken from the same gardener's site.)

5 of her waterdrops are stolen from a site where prints are on sale for hundreds each.
Those I am going to report, but will wait until the wee hours when I can write Webshots a letter laying everything out. I'm sure that if they have reason enough they'd be happier to get rid of her account rather than constantly deal with reported photos.

I just wish that sites like Webshots would make copyright facts a little more prominent and highlight their importance. Too many aren't intentionally doing anything wrong, they just don't THINK before they post, or possibly even know.

Well I'm up late again but I am getting ready to go to bed. Most of the people on WS's are not that worried. They really aren't looking to making money off of their albums. There are really 2 areas of WS's the Pro group & the Community. There are not many people in the community that take photos for much more than just the pleasure of it and sharing it.

I agree that many are just "sharing" photos that they have found on the Internet on a site that is for "photo sharing". I read that on someones page. We don't compete and get ribbons on that site. Your photo or album might get featured, then everyone comes to visit your album and comment on it. Then you go to their albums to thank them for their compliments etc. The big thing on WS are your stats. How many friends & fans you have, your GB messages, views & downloads are all that count. They have a list of 100 most interesting members and many of the top ones have been at the top of that list for a long time. It would almost be impossible to catch up with some of them. That has never been a draw for me but it does feel good when someone visits and truly shows an interest in your photos.

Now I have gotten off topic'''' 20 lashes............ I just wanted to give you some insight to where some of these people are oming from. Faye on the other hand is passing these off as her own and taking the praise & running with it so to speak. I need to go to bed. catch you later, Bonnie

The downloads are part of what bothers me. That's great if you want to share YOUR photos with others, and allow them to download, but not so great when you're giving away shots that someone is trying to make a living from.

I really can't understand what the pleasure is in making friends and accepting praise based on someone else's talent and hard work... :(

are the maf04 pics on eyefetch stolen too? Since some of you slueths have followed this more closely than me, I'll gladly login to EF & detail their admin, if you care to share the details... I <did> see these shots on their other pages, but don't remember whose shots were which ones.

this person disgusts me, and it makes my blood BOIL!!!

Well, there's the talent of being a good searcher to find these on the web! :-|

In all of these, have you ever seen a photo displayed in a "fan" portfolio with a watermark on it?

They don't even take the time to change the file name, they probably won't take time to even mess with a watermark.

I know they can still get them - but if this makes so many people's "blood boil" why aren't we allowed to watermark our stuff here? It's such a simple option to implement to allow us to upload new versions that are watermarked.

Or is this the gripe about it but don't really want to do much about it thread?

Actually, yes! That's when it's really easy to contact the original owner and let them handle it. It doesn't happen that often though, I admit.

And Billy, I'm certain the eyefetch photos are stolen, because the few of Faye's that are hers aren't particularly good. If it's a nice photo, it's almost certainly stolen!
I'll have a look through and let you know. Thanks for the help :D

Eug... I really did sleep from 10:30-2:30 before being up until 6am.

I don't recall whether anyone did a search on webshots using "Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited".

Here are about 140 images you may want to check out.
