Happy V-Day people

Well seeing as my 'husband' dumped me about a week into the new year, I'll be totally boycotting anything remotely connected with the V word!!! Me and my other single girlfriend Jen with be fishing for gossip from my best gay friend Darren who has a date with a gorgeous polish man on Tuesday, who looks like a cross between David Duchovny (Mulder from the X Files)and Eric McCormack (Will fron Will and Grace). Oooh, he's quite delightful! Ooops....the gay man in me just slipped out a little then!!

Wendy, you know what, HIS loss. Serioulsy, you now get the whole bed to yourself, you can do whatever you want whenever you want. You can eat your dinner when ever you want, you can have roast beef sandwiches for breakfast, if you want.

It takes time, but then you know what, it feels good.

How silly is he to have left you, when you are ready, you can find someone that really deserves you. It just takes a little time to ease into it. You will find your place, promise

You know babes.....I can't wait to move back to my dads. The only reason I'm still here is to look after our beloved pets while the ex is on tour (he's a roadie). He's gonna get one of his friends to move in when I go and that can't come soon enough! It IS sooo gonna be his loss. I'm looking better than I have in years, I'm starting my new career doing photography that I love and the only financial commitments I'll have is my business. The phrase 'clean slate' comes to mind! I want to 'discover' myself, for want of a less chessy phrase but you know what I mean. I'm gonna live for me and look after number one which I haven't done for a VERY long while! YAY FOR A FRESH START!!!!!

Back to the Best Wife Ever thread.................we don't celebrate valentine's at my house. When we go married and had kids everytime we turned around we were buying stuff for each other. So I told the wife that we need to cut out some of these celebrations around here. SHE chose to cut out Valentine's and our birthday's.

Either way we are taking the kids to Biltmore in North Carolina and hanging with ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/user_id/811.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/user_id/811.gif', '/') + 1) . ' karmat and family on Friday the 15th.

Thays so cool though! Don't spend money on old commercialised tat....go for a nice day out instead where you'll be left with lots of nice memories and photos and not some chocs that make you fat and a teddy bear that'll just be gathering dust somewhere!!

I am so so so sorry you are going through this Di, here are a few tips that I have had from a friend that went through chemo,

Sea bands, helps with the nausea, plastic cutlery helps with the metallic taste that chem produces. Lemons, just cut slices of lemon take any taste out of you mouth, they are sweet when you are on chemo. Thats pretty much all i have to offer, sorry.

Oh Di...sorry you're having to go through chemo. The only advice I can give is that if you get a sore mouth through this then pineapple really helps and it's delicious too!! My mother in law swore by it and said it really helps! Good look with everythin babes. You'll be groovy!

It is such a bullshit holiday. If you need a special day to let your significant other, of any variety, know that you care for/love/appreciate being with them, then something is wrong somewhere. Well, that is how I look at it anyway.

<not too big on holidays of any sort, if you can't tell already, but especially not big on ones created for the purpose of lining card companies, florists, candy makers, and jewelers pockets.>

Singles, why wait for valentine to declare your true love your feelings?

Non-singles: Why do you need valentine to do something special, while you can do it any monent?
