The Just Met band out of Anchorage, Alaska. They don't have a website, but if you ever run across one of their cd's, it's awesome.

Love those guys and the small band the bro's had after this one :) which I thought was better :-) Not sure they cover "unheard of" but I guess growing up in Oz maybe I am not a good judge.

This thread reminds me of Andy on Parks and Recreation...

The band has had a few different names over the years. When we started, we were Teddy Bear Suicide, but then we changed it to Mouse Rat. Then we were God Hates Figs, Department of Homeland Obscurity, Flames for Flames, Muscle Confusion, Nothing Rhymes With Orange, then Everything Rhymes With Orange, Punch Face Champions, Rad Wagon, Puppy Pendulum, Possum Pendulum, Penis Pendulum, Handrail Suicide, Angel Snack, Just the Tip, Threeskin... [long pause] Oh, Jet Black Pope. We went back to Mouse Rat, and now we are Scarecrow Boat. God, when I hear myself say Scarecrow Boat out loud I kinda hate it...

Ya Crowded House (the Finn boys band after Split Enz) was a great band, but when the Queen of England gives you the OBE, you sort of lose the unheard of label.

Sorry I can't post a link, I'm on my phone and it's a pain, but just YouTube a band called Murder By Death. They are amazing and despite how the name sounds they are not a death metal band I promise. I've seen these guys twice and they are just awesome.

Also check out a guy named Damion Soumi, very good stuff.

Ah yeah! Murder By Death is great. Btw, they're named after the movie. Depending upon which album you heard their style does vary a bit, but you may also like the Heartless Bastards.

Bonobo and Blockhead are two artists I really like that most folks haven't heard of. Good music to work to and relax, but still interesting. Man, I could list bands forever....

Nine Horses. Only one album and a couple of singles and extended releases, but oh, the heartbreak.
