Would like to meet more people who are Christian on DPC. Any out there? I've met a lot of atheist and social liberals. Where are all the Christians?

Ooh, shot yourself in the foot with that one. There ARE liberal Christians, social and "anti-social." No worry, though. I forgive you.

You think all Christians are social conservatives? Perhaps you should do a little research.

I was going to ask if that had to do with the atheist choir, but figured wouldn't get pedantic and overlooked it.

As a former "evangelistic" atheist - I used to convince/argue/reason Christians into non-belief - which sadly was easier to do than the other way around. In spite of all I did to avoid, anger or provoke God (if there was one), He still hung in there and pulled me from death several times. Only awhile after I became a father did I hear His voice tell me "Would you not do the same for your children?"

I have been a Christian for 13 years. In that time I've met people and have seen things that were right in front of me, next to me, all around me for my entire life that should have easily convinced me that Jesus was real, but I looked right through it because I was completely blind to it. I still question it all the time, test it against everything I think I know or new things I have learned and tried to shake it - can't do it - once you discover truth, nothing else will do. It's not about religion and for me has little or nothing to do with religion - it's about personal experience, relationship and having scales removed from your eyes (and heart).

Could have posted this in the "other" thread - preaching to the choir in here I guess, but I'm sure many of the others are popping in here. And I'm not here to convert anyone, but I'm not here to deny who I am either. And when I am slow in chiming in about my faith, it's always because I never feel like I present the best example of what people think a Christian should be. Whatcanyado. :)

This sounds alot like my story in His story. Testimonies are powerful - not only as a witnessing tool but as inspiration for other believers. DOn't look at it as preaching to the choir, but more like shouting praises with your brothers and sisters.

This is well worth reading again and again.

Christian here for 4 years and loving every moment of it. I think my one of my favorite parts is being apart of my church's youth ministry and seeing the kids as they grow with God and more often teach us adults about being a Christian. I just spent a week with 22 of them in Florida and everyday was better than the previous one.

ART...wonderful story and an encourgement to all.

Saved at age six, I have been walking the lonely, but wondrous path for more than four decades now. The fact that some choose not to believe in the existence of the LORD for whatever reason (or illogic IMHO) causes me great grief for their eternal souls!
