I just found out last night that I will need to drive out to Greenville, SC to help my mom move back to Indiana. I'll be leaving Thursday morning to drive out from Indiana and coming back Sunday.

Anybody know of any good photo ops out there or on the way there? I figured I spend a couple days so I could see the area and get some photos. Thanks.

You could take the Blue Ridge Parkway for part of the trip between Greenville and Indiana. Plenty of photo ops there, particularly the stretch from the Cherokee Indian Reservation through Grandfather Mountain.

Thanks for the info folks. I'm kind of excited to be able to get some photos of something other than flat, cold, colorless, Indiana stuff this time of year. I'll be sure to post when I get back. If anybody else knows of some places to check out, let me know.

Thanks for the info John! My brother made sure he told me about this prime location last night. :-) I may be heading up your way on Friday, to go to Charlotte for the day.

Hmmm, before you try to get on the Parkway, you may want to check ot make sure it is open. There are sections closed right now for construction, and other sections (especially in Haywood County) that basically close for the winter. I'm not sure they've opened back up, yet.

Assuming you will be getting on I-40 East in/near Knoxville, then I-26 East in Asheville, you will be going right by Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Skip the tourist section and go to Cades Cove. It is cool.
