Maybe go more for loss of inches than actual poundage?

You can only add lean muscle if you engage in weight-bearing/resistance excercises. Things like pushups, situps, or weight-lifting will add muscle mass. Ordinary walking or bike-riding will burn calories and increase aerobic efficiency -- that is they are very healthy for your heart and lungs -- but won't add much mass.

Very true, esp for biking, which will really get you a nice endorphin rush. And a tight butt! However my quads do get a bit bulky from riding, but not much. I also have really weird legs, so maybe that's why.

Weight Watchers is great as it teaches you to eat properly, not sell you meals you need to eat to lose weight. Their online tracker is SO dang easy to use and tons of great recipes and articles and excercise videos...It worked very well for me when I stuck to it, but my hubby is a saboteur..and I have no willpower, lol.

I think we should should build an army of remote-controlled beings out of our lost fat.

Will these beings do all my house work, so I can spend all my time being creative and shooting?

I love WW online. I've done it a couple of times and it worked each time. I would do it again, but with dial up the site is so slow, I get frustrated and stop! :(

Was in reasonable shape this time last year. Since hurting my ankle I've been on an upward slide. Might be having surgery on it in the next couple of weeks but I need to sort out the weight gain at the same time. This'll help.

I would love to try. I was a rather hefty 288lbs last year at this time and now run (lope) at 236lbs and would love to get down to 200lbs.

My problem at present is that I have an irritated Sciatic nerve which has a rendered my abilities to us my left leg somewhat limited. I currently have to use a crutch to walk and can go up and down stairs by using my right leg almost exclusively.

I will try... I just don't know how effective I will be considering my inability to exercise.

I was thinking about all of us broken body peoples and was wondering about chair excerises.

My back is bad and I think I have seen , bad ankles, bad knees, bad necks, more bad backs and now a left leg issue.

Having small weights to lift whilst sitting down, ankle weights, Swiming is amazing for all our creaks and muscles.

Just sucking in your tummy and holding for 5 seconds adn repeating (same with butt clenches), is better than nothing (or so I heard)

anyone else wanna jump in with some suggestions

I weigh in at a modest 260. I need to lose at least 40. I have no clue how much I can lose in 13 weeks. Even if I dont exercise and just cut down what I eat (I eat alot) I could probably lose 15 by then. So put me down for 15. I will give a proper weigh on Friday. I guess I need to take whatever other Tooth Fairy shots well before this is over with if I am successful. ;)

OH YEAH... Well, when I came back from the doctor's office when I first experienced my back problems my missus asked me: "Well, what did the Doc say?" I proceeded to tell her that he told me I was way too fat, out of shape and in dire need or exercises. I then added that he stated that since I was so out of shape that I should try thing in moderation, suggesting that I limit my exercises to those things I could do in bed.

Her response: " Good luck with that one". :O(

I'll give this a go!

It'll be in keeping with what I've been doing........I've lost 87 pounds since December 4th, but I still have a way to go yet.

Great closing date.....it'll be my 53rd birthday on August 2nd!

I'll try for two pounds a week, so 24 pounds based on four weeks a month.

WW online is what got me started. I hit -40 last week and it's all due to WW online showing me the way. I'm using the CORE plan and love it. I really don't use the site much anymore except for searching recipes and occasional posts to their message boards (and weekly weight tracking). I'm holding onto my membership though, out of loyalty and due to the fact that I'll eventually need lots of help with maintenance.
