In the Night Sky challenge there were a couple of photos that "appear" to have full moons in them.
This couldn't be the case within the challenge dates, so I'm wondering what I'm seeing in these (excellent) images.

This one was taken on June 3rd on (or one day before) the new moon.

This one was taken on Jun 1st when the moon was a tiny sliver 2 days before a new moon.

The first shot was taken May 30th and just appears to be full from the long exposure. The second one was a magnesium military flare, designed to illuminate the battlefield at night.
