The results of the "Doors" challenge have been recalculated, as the image that was formerly in 3rd place has been disqualified due to the use of image distortion in Basic Editing.

Congratulations to the new Yellow Ribbon winner, ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' daryn

In situations such as these, when a ribbon winner never has the pleasure of seing their image on the front page, is there any way to have special box for recognizing recalculated winners? I can't speak for daryn, but to be honest, if it was me, I'd be somewhat upset that my accompishment wasn't timely recognized. I am sure that finding out that I got a ribbon would be great, but there is still that lack of satisfaction for browsing over DPC and saying, 'Yup!!! That's my photo right there!!!'.

I always thought the validation rules and deadlines meant that in most cases the top 3 images would be validated during the 'front-page' viewing period. Therefore any DQs would mean the bumped-up images would at least get a few days on the front page.

We endeavour to do as much, but in this case there was some delay in coming to a verdict, which meant we were unable to recalculate the challenge before it dropped off the front page. However, I should stress that this is a rare case, and at least 99% of top 5 finishers get resolved within the results week.

Also, that's why we post this thread -- it can direct people to the challenge in question to call attention to the short-changed image ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/0-999/906/120/712077.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/0-999/906/120/712077.jpg', '/') + 1) . ' ... and it often hangs around on the front page for a while.

Still a beautiful image, Caroline!

Oh man!! :(
I never thought that correcting the lens warp was stretching the image... You know what they say: hardship is the best way to learn.

I will NEVER do that one again!

You can do it in advanced, though. It's good to remember that... Bummer about the DQ.
