Darn filters here at work...I'll check them out a little later.

Well I just canceled my order with Adorama - and spoke to them about having to wait for a refund. They claim they will have my money refunded in 2 days. I sure hope I don't have to go through the hassle Odyssey went through. They had the nerve to tell me they expected another shipment of the camera in sometime over the next week but they could not promise mine would be shipped out and could not tell me where in their list I was. They of course then tried talking me into buying the kit with the 70-200 lens in it - what the heck just $700 more right? I told her no thanks and to just get me my refund. I did get an email confirmation of the cancellation a few minutes later.

Meanwhile, I called the camera shop in Anchorage and they had only two other people on their waiting list, and an order of 8 cameras on back order but that they hope to get in the next week. So I will be getting one of those.

I really hate it when things like that happen, especially when I'm waiting for something new. I really hope your new one gets in soon.

Another crazy (and very very stressful) week for me. Friday's wedding went pretty smoothly. Wish I could say the same thing for Saturday's. Then the internet broke at the library, so I couldn't upload anything this weekend. Anyway, I should be able to upload something to Flickr during lunch and then upload to DPC before I leave work tonight!

I didn't really expect more from this. I knew that my shot was too static for "play." I wish I had people who would model for me.

Not to worry... my free study entry came in 428th out of 430. My worst score ever, but I liked it and that's what counts for me!

And here is what's happening with my entry for this week:

I'll take a peek soon. I am having a tough time with this challenge. I am shooting for it tommorrow, but don't really know if it is going to "fit" the theme. I hope everyone is doing well this week. My play score is holding steady....just hoping it doesn't drop much.

I am not sure...but I did find some information under the Community tab, then under Side Challenges and Tournaments.

I fear I may be killing (or may have already killed!) my camera. I was taking photos last night: normal room lights, F/3.5, 1/3-1/10 sec, ISO 1600. And everything was still waaaaay underexposed. Like half the time the photo was almost totally black.

I needed a tripod for my Play shot because I was using very long exposures to get well-exposed shots. For my Color in B&W shot, I had nine 60 and 100 watt bulbs and still needed long-ish exposures.

I've also noticed that the focus is very touchy, regardless of which lense I use. Sometimes it works fine. Other times, I can't get anything to focus, even if I use manual focusing.

My camera is 2.5 years old and had endured Sub-Saharan deserts, two stand storms, getting wet in a downpour where I had absolutely no shelter for almost an hour, sub-zero termpertures, and other harsh environments. Is it time to retire my poor Olympus?

I'm still planning on shooting for this week's challenge, but I wonder how much longer my camera will last and if I should be looking for a new camera.

That's so sad!!! :(:( I don't know if you have multiple lenses but you can get used Rebel XT's like mine for less than $300 (just the body)...check craigslist.

In other news....I SHOT!!! And I like it. Let me know what you think!!
