'I am trying to learn how to use PS elements 5 and I need your help! Please put up ypur version of this picture and how you would process it. Make it simple please!

here is my quick edit

Increase levels in the bird and mask off the water
Increase contrast
apply vignette
warm it up with a red filter mask off bird
clone out some spots at the top

Oh crop so it is not centered

i dont have elements, i have cs3....but this ispretty simple, auto levels and a crop

its amateur but here is my attempt ;) .. just messing with stuff I haven't played with before.. lighting effects etc..

Dang! I see Shecoya had the same idea I did ... and beat me to posting it.

I really didn't do much to it:

1) I used Render | Lighting to create the appearance of a light coming from behind and to the right of the bird to match the already existing highlighted outline.

2) I burned the part of the image to the bottom left of the bird ... as if the bird were blocking the light (I made no attempt to create the form of a shadow, I just blocked most of the light).

3) Increased the brightness / contrast of the image.

4) Then added an orange color overlay to the image.
