Need to send out a Thank You to Judy and Kelli! I'm in heaven!!

dpc cookbook -- i did one with one of my classes a couple of years ago and there are several where you can enter your recipes "remotely" online. the actual selling might be tricky, but it is an interesting idea.

lol, then I shoudl add:

Use about 1/2 to 3/4 of whipping cream (or double cream) in those little square cartons, I think they come in 1 pints. salt and pepper to taste, one whole or 2 if you love mushrooms of cartons sliced and 1/2 to 1 whole lemon, or a really good squirt from the plastic lemon

and remember not to cook the chops just brown them, or they will get chewy!

mmmm is right. Hope this isn't copyrighted because I'm saving it. ;\

Yes, yes it is Copyrighted, You are in violation for saving it and owe me 5 million trillion billion pennys. Or I sic Charlie onto you for the holidays!!!! =oP

lol, nah it just one of those recipes i made up somewhere along the line.

It is great on steak too, just have it as a sauce, the lemon curdles the cream, that is what makes it so damn yummy

edited to add:

you can have this sauce just as it is which is truly divine, or if you having a dinner party and want to go fancysmancy, I add, a clove of crushed garlic, thinly cubed onions, and butter, sizzle till they are soft, then add some white wine and reduce it add the mushroom then pour it over your chops and bake. Or use it as a sauce,

The only thing that is wrong with this sauce/dish, is that it is all very cream coloured. So adding a garnish or 6 will make it pop a little more

Okay, ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' ladyK, one more. because you asked for cookies
and I'm still browsing The Aunts (and yes, I always called them "The Aunts" and they loved it) file cabinet.
CAUTION: I have never baked or cooked any of these recipes.
And I am deciphering handwriting that, well....once upon a time, I knew well.
Here goes:

Date filled drop cookies.

Filling:
one cup chopped dates
2/3 cups water
2/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup nuts
Boil until thick, then cool.

Cookies:
one cup shortening
two cups brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon soda dissolved in a little water
3 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
pinch of salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add rest of ingredients.
Drop a small teaspoon of dough on greased cookie sheet,
then some filling on top of dough. Then some more dough
on top of filling. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350°.

Editorial comment: There csnnot be any excess calories in this recipe, because I am still here.
ETA: The Aunts started baking cookies at T'giving to give to friends at Christmas.
Of Swiss ancestry, their many varieties of cookies were - well - wonderful!

LadyK - here's one for you. Pumpkin Marmalade

8 lbs pumpkin peeled and cut into small pieces.
Use equal amount of sugar. Mix. Let stand over night.
In the morning, peel and cut 6 oranges and 3 lemons.
Cook peel until soft. Scrap away white part.
Cut peel into strips and add to pumpkin mixture with orange and lemon pulp.
Cook until it begins to thicken.

I opened the shoebox containing 3x5 recipe cards just now for the first
time in a very long time. This is a completely random sample of the recipes
that came to me through my aunts. (But, dang, doesn't it sound good?)
I just pulled it out of the mix.
Sometimes they are in pencil, sometimes in ink. Sometimes clipped from the paper.
None are younger than 50 years ago. Many are much older.

If you feel like it, tell me why you are interested in recipes.

Would it be fun to start a recipe thread? Or would you like to just PM me with
your thoughts. I have a lot of ancient recipes in this shoebox.
