I swear it snowed every where around me, but my yard is freakin' empty of snow. Didn't get one drop last night! Kelli is in NJ and she had a storm...I'm in NJ and didn't get anything....That's just weird.

I'm actually pretty jealous. Miss those Pittsburgh days. On the other hand, I'm out planting peas and garlic today... :)

I'm in South Jersey, you're in North Jersey. Trust me, I'd prefer it the other way around! We also ended up with 24 inches. I'm so sick of snow.

Oh, yeah. Once it stopped and the sun came out just before sunset, it was gorgeous.

I measured 21" at my house in a couple of spots, although there are reports on the news from my town of 24". One town south of Baltimore (Crofton) is reporting 34".

Yeah, when we had our 2-inches of snow national emergency a few weeks ago the first things the shops sold out of were bread and potatoes.

I heard a store manager on the news call it a "white sale". Snow is coming so people buy milk, eggs, bread and TP.

I have been working snow removal non stop. Between my regular shift and snow I am putting in 19 days straight without a day off and over 40 hours OT. And yet I find time to post here. My shots have suffered from lack of time and sleep but somehow I think they may still suck even when I get a day off and rest :) Well that is why I am here, must improve and get consistent with my shots. Well time for bed, gotta do the snow thing again tomorrow, I may join you all who moved south, I hate the cold and snow.

It finally stopped! Not in time for any pretty sunset shots, but there's always tomorrow :-)

There is no 'after' picture. Suffice it to say that the driveway is usable now. No sunset here but maybe a pretty sunrise in the morning!

BTW- Five feet of that came in one night (about a seven hour span).

No one is prepared for five feet of snow in seven hours. Okay maybe I was (and a few other people). Last spring my neighbor laughed his butt off at me when I made my halogen worklight "snow safe." He wasn't laughing when he climbed onto his roof at 2 AM in pitch black to try and clear the snow off and I was already working on mine- in bright clear wonderful halogen light.

As a snow loving Canadian, I was hoping this would hit us here but it passed us to the south. We haven't had a good one in a while. Fingers crossed. :)

Lucky buggers.

As a person who is travelling to Canada twice in the next 3 weeks...i'm glad the snow completely missed you. lol.

Final total accumulation in our area...27 inches! The second highest one storm total since they began keeping records here. This snow eclipsed the previous 2nd highest total of 23.2" that we had just 5 weeks ago. WOW! How's that for big snowfalls in one season! It may not seem like a large amount of snow for some folks, but it's a heck of a lot of snow for us here in the Philadelphia area.

Everyone ready for the next round? Nor'easter due in Tuesday night into Wednesday. I'm hearing 12 - 18 inches this time.

ACK! Don't even say that!!! We still haven't seen an official snow plow and I have plans for this weekend which involve heading north. If snow must fall, could someone please clean it up this time? By Saturday at the latest (and no, I don't want to hear about any possible storm Saturday in the Northeast ... I really don't.) Thank you ;-)

Update: my husband just came in and told me even the minivan can't make it up our icy hill and it's almost 11:00 am. This is not a good thing. On the plus side, I can probably stop cleaning the house because the cable guy won't be able to get here today.

At some point I am going to get tired of being housebound ...

You have power at home?! You're lucky. :-/ We stayed one night in the house without power and gave in to warm food, and a hot shower...checked into a hotel. Tonight we're going to stay with friends that have power. Looking at the power companies website there are still 17000 homes without power in our area.

You're right; it could be much worse around here. I take back my whine ;-)

If Alabama ever got more than an inch of snow, who knows what would happen? It has been sleeting & snowing, off & on since dawn & this what we have at 10AM. The schools are closed & some of the roads are closed. "D

LOL! Last time we got hit with 2 feet on the weekend, school was closed for 3 days. This time, same amount, school's are open. I had a hell of a time getting out of my driveway this morning even with 4 wheel drive. It just doesn't work on ice. It took me 25 minutes to drive my son to school (it's normally a 2 minute drive), bumper to bumper traffic barely moving the whole way. And we're a walking district (no buses) and you'd be surprised how many sidewalks aren't shoveled.

Nobody's clearing the sidewalks here, either. They are iced over in a slushy kind of way, but the thing that I don't like is the thin super-glue ice that forms on the windshield of my truck. Nothing to do but let the defroster melt it, it can't be scraped. The birds are still here, so it can't be that much of a storm. I expect it will be over by noon. My sympathy to all the people struggling w/mountains of snow, & the mountains of snow created by snowplows. When I lived in Wisconsin the sidewalks were tunnels, the snow on either side higher than my head. Ugh!
