It would be nice if there was a larger size to view and ingest. The thumbnail holds no link so all there is to view is a thumbnail image. From the thumbnail, it looks ok though.

Drag it over from flicker and stick it in your portfolio so we can see it bigger. It looks like a nice shot, but the black point seems off.

Edit, yup the blacks are grey, and the contrast needs to be bumped up, nice shot though

yup, way too washed out -- bump up the contrast

Everything done would be legal under Advanced and was applied to the whole image.

I did not crop the image, but I think it needs one. Also, it may look rough...I used the image posted.

Thanks a lot guys!

The difference between low contrast and high contrast really stands out.

What software should I use to adjust the 'black'?

I think I know that, is that near web bridge docklands? I take a few shots there.

To adjust black, use any software that has "levels" (ie most photo software). On the histogram take the slider on the left and slide it right. A lot of programs likelightroom will have a black slider, but this just adjusts the levels anyway. Another thing to do with the skys like this is to adjust the white balance you can get some nice colors.

For free, I like picasa or GIMP, but for around 90 bucks you can get Adobe Elements. Editing software is like lenses, the more you use them, the more you are willing to spend to get the better toys. Eventually you will probably end up with Photoshop, but that is the deep end of the pool. Try the free ones, much about see what you like to work with.

i'd crop it like this:
' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/65000-69999/65886/120/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_870790.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/65000-69999/65886/120/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_870790.jpg', '/') + 1) . '
:) and would maybe convert in b&w, but i like the colors and contrast here

The crop looks nice, it's just no matter how I crop it myself, I am not satisfied, so maybe I will just leave it as it is :D

and the black and white conversion advice taken, sent the picture to my friend and he came up with this.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/115000-119999/115058/800/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_870857.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/115000-119999/115058/800/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_870857.jpg', '/') + 1) . '
