Golden ferns in the aspen grove.

Inspired by Claude Monet's Weeping Willow images.

Monet was inspired by the willow tree. My inspiration was the aspens and golden ferns with dappled light and shadow play.

The sky is natural and that's the way it looked to my eyes. The sky at 10,000' is clean and clear with little humidity. It's quite blue. I'm sad someone thinks it looks fake. I'd guess they live at sea level.

Variations in a blue sky

In particular, this weeping willow painting inspired my image.

Thanks, Art. I appreciate your comments. The Colorado sky does confuse people, especially when viewed through the leaves of an aspen grove. It's not in the life experiences of some. Be sure to visit the mountains in autumn to see this sometime. The sky's blueness and the dappled light in the grove were the main elements of interest. This image is straight from the camera.

I honestly thought this shot was processed... the bright blue sky, the sharpness... it's amazing that this was straight out of the camera!
either way... a lovely shot...
and the fact that you can take such clean, crisp, sharp photos.... that's the real art here!

How pretty! I wish we had some forests like that here (Australia).

This is lovely. Great dynamic range here. Really like the bit of blue peaking out. (comment, no voting)

I love this apart from the blue, it looks fake.

not an easy picture to carry off with the sky/sunlight/shadows...you have good clarity and tones

Art is all around us, why get caught up analyzing everything when it's always right in front of you, nice job.
