I like the composition, the textures, the colours and the background blur. I agree with others that the subject is a bit soft. |

Not a bad photo...though it's missing that certain something ...maybe its a bit too soft, maybe darker darks to exaggerate the dept of tangle of links. I love rust too! |

A little soft but it has great texture and shape! Love rust! |

Great shot, could have done with a bit more pop though, maybe boost the saturation a bit or perhaps go the other way and do a moody B&W :)

All the votes are bunched up in the middle just like the links in your photo. ;-) Probably not macro enough or abstract enough for the challenge. With a little better processing, could have done ok in a "Rust" challenge or similar. |

I feel it lacks sharpness. Like the rough textures on the chain against the soft the background. |

well i came in to comment and got sage advice on a macro lens...unexpected bonus! i think perhaps the lack of an abstract feel may have hurt your score a bit, but scoring 5+ in an abstract challenge is no small feat |

I think this one is one of my favorites of yours. I think its not being a true macro through your score off a bit.
I love the colors and textures and the composition is excellent! :D |

I see what you were trying to do here. I do agree that this would prob look good as a b&w. |

I would like to see this one in B&W with the details cranked up. |

This is nice, but feels like it could be a bit darker and moodier. btw, "macro" on the 70-300 isn't "true macro" (macro being that the image on the sensor, film, etc. is the same size as the real object or larger) but instead is about 1/2 macro. Not a criticism, just an observation. Sorry, I'm a little anal when it comes to terminology :) I noticed a macro lens on your wish list, may I recommend the Canon 100mm f/2.8? It gets excellent reviews and isn't ridiculously expensive. |

Great composition using the triangular shape with the strong base at the bottom. Good light, great bokeh good detail. |

Perfect example of macro shot. The picture seems natural and spontaneouse, which to me, make the shots more memorable. (Please excuse the spelling) |
