though I could see this in a coffee shop...I'm not sure that is has the "wow" factor it needs for this challenge

I really like the feel of this image. Some times breaking the so called rules of photography can work well. I think this would be a little strong if either the trees or the people walking was closer to the rule of thirds. Not both one or the other.

Yes, I like this. To enhance the simplicity I wonder if cropping into the main tree through its trunk would de-clutter the left side of the picture?
