 Wow , I thought the color on color challenge was hard for me . This challenge really kicked my butt, started with having a white back ground which I could not for the life of me pull off, because even though I got new light equipment ,I suck at knowing how to use it .. then I realized that the piece of black fabric I have was not that big ,so had to stretch it as much as I could . Then the flowers started to wilt from no water in the vase .
I tried so many different ideas with the vase and flower ,because this was the main focus of the shoot and nothing was working that I originally planned . I just happened to look up at my book self in the room and saw the book ends and old readers digest and thought hey that might look ok . So hopefully it does . end of boring story ... LOL

I actually would have liked this much better without the books and bookends. The vase and the branch would have been wonderful by itself. (it was an 8 anyway, but probably would have been a nine by itself. :)

Not understanding the books, would have preferred just the flowers and vase, just my opinion of course ;)

(For me)I'm not sure that the books and bookends do a service to this. I think that just the vase and forsythia against that black, would have been great by themselves.

Interesting setup. For me, the two sets of subjects doesn't work super well. Seems like there is an identity crisis.

Love the arching branch. I'd have eliminated the bookends and books between, and just the negative space pull our eye back to the left. Just my opinion though. ;)
