been wanting to do this shot for a long time. Thanks to my great wife for putting up with all this nonsense.
This is not a wall, but a piece of foam board with a black posted board taped to it and strips of white posted board taped to that to make up the lines. The yellow wall is tissue paper stretched across it all to resemble wall paper. Took the photos of the lemon and banana the day before, printed them and bought cheap frames which I painted yellow as well. The Jell-O is real, made from Knox gelatin and food coloring (not real flavor).
This might do poorly because I'm not sure if that phrase is universally known. But alas, there it is. (//www.usingenglish.com/reference/idioms/like+nailing+jello+to+the+wall.html)
Foam board propped at about a 20 degree angle, the pictures were laid on there. The Jell-O has a piece of plastic wrap under to limit the moisture on the tissue paper. Light situated to appear to be coming down from the right.
Hate the wrinkles in the tissue. Tried to smooth them with blur, but it looked too fake, so dialed that back a bit.
We shall see... Hoping it does well, but I'm always RIPE for disappointment when I do.

I feel EXTREMELY stupid now for posting all this detail about this photo. I was so sure it was a creative winner, but the site disagrees. Same luck next time I'm sure. |
