During a street fair, saw this beautiful, old church with the congregation holding a sidewalk, flea market. This young lady was the only black person anywhere. Felt this fit the modern day version of a Cinderella: lilly white churches (the white doors) locking out not only blacks, but women, gays, and lesbians. The dream of Dr. King is still somewhat a fairy tale. The glass slipper is yet to be fitted. Asked this young lady if she would pose for me. She accepted even after I told her my theme. [The truth be told though is that this particular church does have a female pastor.] Camera set to manuel, I took several shots.
In photoshop, cropped for desired effect; auto adjusted color; sized for the web; desaturated the red brick to emphasize the
white church doors and black subject, sharpened edges only. Talked to the young lady afterwards and found out she and her friend were traveling through Ohio headed for New York. |

| Its a real stretch to make this one fit the challenge. Her missing feet takes away from the image also. Clarity is great though :) |

I would have liked to see something more indicative of Cinderella... Glass footwear is the best idea. I don't mind the modern clothing, but the see-through galoshes should have been in it.
