Female on left. Male on right. The female lays her egg in the nest of other birds. Her egg will hatch and the host parents will feed it like it was their own. The other babies will not survive.

Nice capture. We do have a similar European species (Cuculus canorus), but I've never seen one (in the wild).

Yes, a parasitic bird. I haven't seen a cowbird yet this year, but they will be in Colorado soon. Nice photo.
